【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구 동구의회가 6일 제10대 의회 첫 임시회인 제1차 본회의를 열고 전반기 의장단을 선출했다. 동구의회는 7일 상임위원회 구성을 마무리한 뒤 본격적인 의정활동에 들어갈 예정이다.

의장에는 3선의 이연미 의원(신천·효목동)이 선출됐다. 이연미 의장은 제9대 후반기 부의장을 역임한 바 있으며, 앞으로 의회를 대표해 회의를 이끌고 운영과 대외 협력 업무를 총괄하게 된다.

부의장에는 재선의 안평훈 의원(안심3·혁신동)이 선출됐다. 안 부의장은 의장을 보좌하며, 원활한 의회 운영과 의원 간 협력 체계 구축에 힘쓸 예정이다.

이연미 신임 의장은 “무거운 책임감을 가지고 구민의 기대에 부응하는 의회를 만들겠다”며 “소통과 협력을 통해 신뢰받는 의회를 만들고, 지역 발전과 구민 삶의 질 향상을 위해 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.  

안평훈 부의장도 “동료 의원들과 긴밀히 협력해 구민의 목소리가 의정에 잘 반영될 수 있도록 맡은 역할에 최선을 다하겠다”며 “민생 현안을 꼼꼼히 살피고, 구민과 함께하는 의회를 만드는 데 힘을 보태겠다”고 말했다.

동구의회는 7일 상임위원회 구성을 마치면 조례안, 예산안 심의와 행정사무감사 등 본격적인 의정활동에 돌입할 계획이다. 새롭게 꾸려진 의장단을 중심으로 주민생활과 직결된 민생 현안 해결과 집행부에 대한 견제, 감시 기능을 강화하겠다고 밝혔다.

The Dong-gu Council plans to commence full-scale legislative activities, including deliberations on ordinances and budget bills and administrative audits, once the standing committees are finalized on the 7th.
