선린대학교는 13일 믿음관 102호에서 포항시의 '2026년 중장년 맞춤형 성인진로·취업교육 지원사업'의 하나로 마련된 요양보호사 양성과정 개강식을 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이번 교육은 초고령사회에 대응해 돌봄 서비스 전문인력을 양성하기 위해 마련됐다. 고령자와 노인성 질환으로 도움이 필요한 대상자에게 전문적인 요양서비스를 제공할 수 있는 인력을 배출하는 데 목적을 두고 있다.

교육과정은 이론 126시간, 실기 114시간, 현장실습 80시간 등으로 구성된다. 교육생들은 전 과정을 이수한 뒤 국가자격시험을 거쳐 요양보호사 자격을 취득하게 된다.

정년구 선린대학교 평생교육원장은 "새로운 진로에 도전하는 교육생들의 열정이 좋은 결실로 이어지길 바란다"며 "교육과정을 통해 전문성을 갖춘 요양보호사로 성장할 수 있도록 적극 지원하겠다"고 말했다.

전경국 선린대학교 총장직무대행은 "이번 과정은 중장년층의 재취업과 진로 설계를 지원하는 동시에 지역사회에 필요한 돌봄 전문인력을 양성하기 위해 마련됐다"며 "교육생들이 안정적으로 교육을 받을 수 있도록 대학 차원의 지원을 이어가겠다"고 밝혔다.

박진숙 포항시 평생교육과장은 "교육생 모두가 과정을 성실히 이수해 지역사회에 기여하는 전문 인력으로 성장하길 기대한다"며 "이번 교육이 중장년층에게 새로운 진로를 모색하는 계기가 되기를 바란다"고 말했다.

Sunlin University’s Lifelong Education Center is officially launching a caregiver training course to enhance the employment capabilities of middle-aged and senior citizens in Pohang.

Sunlin University announced that it held an opening ceremony for the caregiver training course on the 13th at Room 102 of the Mideum Hall. The course is part of Pohang City’s "2026 Customized Adult Career and Employment Education Support Project for Middle-aged and Senior Citizens."

This training program was established to cultivate professional care service personnel in response to a super-aged society. Its purpose is to produce personnel capable of providing professional care services to the elderly and those requiring assistance due to age-related diseases.

The curriculum consists of 126 hours of theory, 114 hours of practical training, and 80 hours of field practice. Upon completing the entire course, trainees will obtain the caregiver qualification by passing the national certification examination.
