DGIST(총장 이건우)는 지난 15일 대구 달성군 현풍농협에서 현풍농협(조합장 정창섭)과 ‘미래 청년 과학기술인재 육성 지원 프로젝트’ 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했다고 16일 밝혔다. 이번 협약을 통해 두 기관은 학생 연구 환경 개선과 교육, 문화 프로그램을 공동으로 추진하며, 지역사회와 대학이 함께 성장하는 상생 모델을 만들 계획이다.

이번 협약의 특징은 지역 과학기술특성화대학과 지역 금융기관이 힘을 합쳐 미래 인재를 육성하고, 지역 발전에도 기여한다는 점이다. 두 기관은 지속 가능한 상생 협력 체계를 구축하고, 교육·문화·예술 프로그램 공동 운영, 학생 연구·교육 환경 개선 등 다양한 협력 사업을 펼치기로 했다.

특히, 현풍농협은 기존의 단순한 장학금 지원이나 일회성 후원을 넘어서, 대학의 교육·연구 환경 개선과 학생 지원, 문화 프로그램 확대 등 대학 캠퍼스 전반에 걸쳐 사회공헌 활동을 추진한다는 데 의미를 더했다.

DGIST는 이번 협약을 발판 삼아 학생들이 보다 나은 환경에서 학업과 연구에 몰입할 수 있도록 지원할 계획이다. 또한 지역사회와 대학이 함께 성장하는 지속 가능한 협력 모델을 만들어 나간다는 방침이다.

양 기관은 실무협의회를 구성해 장학사업, 인턴십, 교육·문화 프로그램, 시설 개선 등 구체적인 협력사업을 발굴·추진하며, 정기적인 성과 점검을 통해 협력 범위도 확대할 예정이다.

이건우 DGIST 총장은 “현풍농협의 적극적인 지원 덕분에 학생들이 더욱 쾌적한 환경에서 학업과 연구에 매진할 수 있게 됐다”며, “이번 협약이 지역과 대학이 함께 성장하는 상생 모델로 자리매김할 수 있도록 다양한 협력사업을 계속 추진하겠다"고 밝혔다.

정창섭 현풍농협 조합장은 “현풍농협은 지역 농민과 주민의 성장을 바탕으로 발전해 온 지역 금융기관”이라며, “앞으로도 지역의 미래를 이끌 과학기술 인재들의 든든한 버팀목이 되겠다"고 말했다.

Using this agreement as a foundation, DGIST plans to support students so they can immerse themselves in their studies and research in a better environment. Furthermore, the university intends to establish a sustainable cooperation model where the local community and the university grow together.

Both organizations will form a working committee to identify and promote specific collaborative projects, such as scholarship programs, internships, educational and cultural programs, and facility improvements. They also plan to expand the scope of cooperation through regular performance reviews.

Jeong Chang-seop, Chairman of Hyeonpung Agricultural Cooperative, said, “Hyeonpung Agricultural Cooperative is a local financial institution that has developed based on the growth of local farmers and residents,” adding, “We will continue to be a reliable pillar of support for science and technology talents who will lead the future of the region.”
