Daegu Hanyeong University actively supported the entry of local bio-health and beauty companies into the North American market by participating in ‘Cosmoprof Las Vegas,’ the largest B2B cosmetics trade show in the United States.

Daegu Hanyeong University announced on the 20th that it attended Cosmoprof, held from the 13th to the 15th at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, USA, by linking the Ministry of Education’s Glocal University Project with the Ministry of SMEs and Startups’ Regional SME Value Chain Support Project. During the event, the university operated a joint booth with 13 local companies.

This exhibition was organized as part of the ‘K-MEDI Silk Road’ initiative to build a global value chain that connects R&D to commercialization and exports by combining the university’s R&D capabilities with the technological prowess of local companies.

During the event, Daegu Hanyeong University and the participating companies conducted a total of 298 export consultations worth approximately $5.16 million. At the event, products incorporating the university's research-based technologies, such as the joint brand 'Eastern Cabinet' and AI skin diagnostic equipment, attracted the attention of overseas buyers, confirming the potential for entry into the North American market.

Participating companies also achieved results. Gopa Co., Ltd. was recognized for its product competitiveness by being selected in the 'STYLE & CARE' category of the 'COSMO TRENDS,' a global trend award presented at the expo. Fauna Life Care also laid the groundwork for entering the North American market by proceeding with negotiations for placement in distribution channels affiliated with MGM, a global hotel and resort company.

In addition to product export consultations, active discussions on various collaborations took place on-site, including technology transfer, joint brand development, and the establishment of distribution partnerships.

Byun Chang-hoon, President of Daegu Hani University, stated, "The Glocal University Project focuses on strengthening the global competitiveness of regional industries." He added, "We will continue to actively utilize overseas B2B expos and global networks to support the overseas expansion of local companies and build a sustainable ecosystem of industry-academia-research cooperation centered on the K-MEDI Silk Road."
