【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구 수성구가 간부 공무원들을 대상으로 생성형 인공지능(AI) 실습 교육을 실시하며, 공공 행정의 AI 전환에 박차를 가하고 있다.

수성구는 지난 20일 구청장을 비롯해 5급 이상 간부 공무원 60여 명이 참여한 가운데 ‘AI 실습 교육’을 진행했다고 밝혔다. 이번 교육은 단순한 AI 활용법에 그치지 않고, 정책 수립이나 의사결정 과정에서 AI를 실제로 활용할 수 있는 역량을 키우는 데 초점을 맞췄다. 이를 통해 수성구는 공공 부문에서 AI 기반 행정 혁신을 선도하겠다는 계획이다.

이날 교육에서는 생성형 AI 프롬프트 설계와 바이브코딩 등 실제 행정에 활용 가능한 실무형 실습이 중심이 됐다. 참석한 간부들은 AI를 활용해 정책 자료 작성, 데이터 요약, 시나리오 분석 등 다양한 행정 업무 적용 방안을 체험했다.

특히, 수성구 간부 공무원들이 AI 기술을 직접 다루며 행정 경험에 첨단 기술을 접목한 새로운 업무 방식도 모색했다. 한 간부는 “AI를 직접 활용해 보니, 행정이 한층 효율적으로 바뀔 수 있겠다는 가능성을 느꼈다”고 말했다.

김대권 수성구청장은 “AI는 행정 혁신의 필수 동력”이라며 “간부들의 행정 경험과 AI 기술이 만나면 급변하는 행정 환경에도 더 능동적으로 대응할 수 있을 것”이라고 밝혔다. 그는 이어 “리더들이 먼저 변화를 이끌고 실천해 AI 기반 행정 혁신을 실현하겠다”고 강조했다.

수성구는 이미 상반기에 전 직원 대상 기초 AI 활용 교육을 마쳤으며, 이번 간부 실습을 계기로 하반기에는 AI 코딩과 데이터 분석·시각화 등 심화 과정도 확대할 방침이다. 또 민원 응대 챗봇, 데이터 기반 복지위기가구 발굴, 교통·주차 수요 예측 등 AI를 활용한 다양한 행정 서비스 발굴을 검토 중이다.

수성구 관계자는 “AI 활용은 단순히 업무 효율성 제고를 넘어, 주민들에게 더 빠르고 정확한 행정 서비스를 제공하는 것이 목표”라며 “직원 역량 강화와 함께 안전하고 책임감 있는 AI 행정 체계를 마련해나가겠다”고 밝혔다.

Suseong-gu, Daegu, is accelerating the transition to AI in public administration by conducting practical training on Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) for its senior officials.

Suseong-gu announced that it held an "AI Practical Training" session on the 20th, attended by approximately 60 senior officials, including the District Mayor and officials at the Grade 5 level or higher. This training focused not merely on teaching how to use AI, but on cultivating the capacity to actually utilize AI in policy formulation and decision-making processes. One official remarked, "After using AI directly, I felt the potential for administration to become significantly more efficient."

Suseong-gu Mayor Kim Dae-kwon stated, “AI is an essential driving force for administrative innovation,” adding, “When the administrative experience of senior officials meets AI technology, we will be able to respond more proactively to the rapidly changing administrative environment.” He further emphasized, “Leaders will take the lead in driving change and putting it into practice to realize AI-based administrative innovation.”

Suseong-gu has already completed basic AI training for all employees in the first half of the year, and building on this practical training for senior officials, the district plans to expand advanced courses in the second half, including AI coding and data analysis and visualization. Additionally, the district is reviewing the development of various AI-powered administrative services, such as chatbots for handling civil complaints, data-driven identification of households at risk of welfare crisis, and traffic and parking demand forecasting.

A Suseong-gu official stated, “The goal of utilizing AI is not merely to improve work efficiency, but to provide faster and more accurate administrative services to residents,” adding, “We will establish a safe and responsible AI administrative system alongside strengthening employee capabilities.”
