지역사회와의 협력 강화도 주요 과제로 제시했다. 이 본부장은 울진이 원자력과 에너지 산업의 중심지로 성장할 수 있도록 지역 주민과 지속적으로 소통하고 신뢰를 쌓아 상생 발전을 이끌겠다는 의지를 밝혔다.
그는 "지역의 다양한 의견을 경청하고 신뢰를 바탕으로 함께 성장하는 한울원자력본부를 만들어 가겠다"며 "울진 에너지클러스터의 미래를 지역사회와 함께 준비하는 든든한 동반자가 되겠다"고 말했다.
이용희 본부장은 영남대학교 기계공학과를 졸업했으며, 1993년 한국전력공사 입사 이후 원전 건설과 운영 분야에서 30여 년간 근무했다.
특히 신고리 5·6호기 사업관리실장과 홍보실장, 새울 3·4호기 건설소장, 한국수력원자력 원전건설기술처장 등을 역임하며 원전 건설과 운영 전반에 걸친 실무와 관리 경험을 쌓아온 원전 전문가로 평가받고 있다.
