【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=행복북구문화재단이 운영하는 구수산도서관과 서변숲도서관이 ‘2026 바둑보급사업’ 운영기관으로 선정됐다. 이번 사업은 문화체육관광부와 국민체육진흥공단이 후원하고, 대한바둑협회가 주관한다.

이번 바둑보급사업은 바둑의 저변을 확대하고 생활체육을 활성화하기 위해 마련됐다. 도서관을 찾는 주민들이 부담 없이 바둑을 배우고 즐길 수 있도록 다양한 프로그램이 지원될 예정이다.

구수산도서관은 오는 8월 6일부터 11월 19일까지 성인과 어르신을 대상으로 ‘쉬운 바둑교실’을 연다. 이 프로그램은 총 30회로, 입문자와 초심자도 쉽게 참여할 수 있도록 기본 규칙부터 기초 전략, 실전 대국까지 단계별로 교육한다.

서변숲도서관에서는 8월 4일부터 11월 24일까지 초등학생 대상 ‘유소년 바둑클럽’이 운영된다. 역시 총 30회 과정으로, 바둑의 기초를 익히면서 사고력과 집중력을 기를 수 있도록 구성됐다.

두 도서관 모두 초심자 눈높이에 맞춘 체계적인 교육을 통해 바둑에 대한 흥미를 높이고, 지속적인 참여를 유도할 계획이다.

이근수 행복북구문화재단 이사장은 “이번 사업을 계기로 도서관이 독서뿐 아니라 생활체육과 평생학습을 함께 즐기는 지역 문화공간으로 자리 잡길 기대한다”며 “주민들이 바둑을 통해 소통하고 건강한 여가문화를 누릴 수 있도록 적극적으로 지원하겠다”고 밝혔다.

Seobyeon Forest Library will operate the ‘Youth Baduk Club’ for elementary school students from August 4 to November 24. The course consists of a total of 30 sessions and is designed to help participants develop critical thinking and concentration skills while mastering the basics of Go.

Both libraries plan to increase interest in Go and encourage continued participation through systematic education tailored to beginners.

Lee Geun-soo, Chairman of the Happy Bukgu Cultural Foundation, stated, "I hope that through this project, libraries will establish themselves as local cultural spaces where people can enjoy not only reading but also recreational sports and lifelong learning," adding, "We will actively support residents so that they can communicate through Go and enjoy a healthy leisure culture."
