봉화군 청년정책협의체는 지난 7월 25일부터 26일까지 1박 2일 일정으로 ‘2026년 봉화-수원 청년 교류 프로그램’을 운영했다고 밝혔다.

이번 행사는 2024년 봉화군과 수원특례시가 체결한 우호도시 협약을 계기로 마련됐으며, 양 지역 청년 간 지속적인 소통과 협력 관계를 구축하기 위해 추진됐다.

프로그램에는 수원시청, 수원청소년청년재단, 수원청년네트워크단, 봉화군 청년정책협의체 등 관계자 45명이 참여했다.

참가자들은 봉화 은어축제장을 찾아 소통 이벤트와 포토부스 운영, 축제 체험 프로그램 등을 함께하며 지역 문화를 공유하는 시간을 가졌다.

특히 양 도시 청년 정책을 소개하고 향후 발전 방향을 논의하는 청년 정책 토론회도 열려 지역별 청년 지원 정책과 교류 활성화 방안에 대한 의견을 나눴다.

김종기 봉화군 청년정책협의체 회장은 “이번 교류가 봉화와 수원의 청년들이 서로의 지역과 정책을 이해하고 함께 성장하는 계기가 되길 바란다”며 “앞으로도 청년들이 주도하는 지속 가능한 교류와 협력 모델을 만들어 갈 수 있도록 노력하겠다”고 말했다.

최기영 봉화군수는 “우호도시 간 청년들이 축제를 통해 만나고 지역 발전 방안을 함께 고민하는 것은 의미 있는 과정”이라며 “청년들의 다양한 의견을 정책에 반영하고 지역 간 상생과 교류가 이어질 수 있도록 지원을 확대하겠다”고 밝혔다.

45 Youths from Bonghwa and Suwon Exchange at Sweetfish Festival… Laying the Foundation for Inter-regional Youth Cooperation

Youths from Bonghwa County and Suwon Special City met at a local festival to broaden the scope of their exchanges and explore avenues for mutual cooperation.

The Bonghwa County Youth Policy Council announced that it operated the "2026 Bonghwa-Suwon Youth Exchange Program" for two days and one night from July 25 to 26.

This event was organized following the friendship city agreement signed between Bonghwa County and Suwon Special City in 2024, and was promoted to establish a relationship of continuous communication and cooperation between the youth of both regions.

Forty-five officials participated in the program, including representatives from Suwon City Hall, the Suwon Youth Foundation, the Suwon Youth Network, and the Bonghwa County Youth Policy Council.

Participants visited the Bonghwa Sweetfish Festival grounds and spent time sharing local culture through communication events, operating photo booths, and participating in festival experience programs.

In particular, a youth policy forum was held to introduce the youth policies of both cities and discuss future development directions, where opinions were exchanged on regional youth support policies and measures to revitalize exchanges.

Kim Jong-gi, Chairman of the Bonghwa County Youth Policy Council, said, “I hope this exchange serves as an opportunity for the youth of Bonghwa and Suwon to understand each other’s regions and policies and grow together,” adding, “We will continue to strive to create sustainable exchange and cooperation models led by youth.”

Choi Ki-young, Mayor of Bonghwa County, stated, “It is a meaningful process for youth from sister cities to meet through festivals and deliberate together on ways to develop their regions,” adding, “We will reflect the diverse opinions of youth in our policies and expand support to ensure that mutual growth and exchange between regions continue.”
