【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구 북구가 청년들이 가까운 곳에서 다양한 프로그램을 누릴 수 있도록 '북(구)적인 장소' 6곳을 미니 청년센터로 지정해 운영에 들어간다.
북구청에 따르면 '북(구)적인 장소'는 북구청년꿈드림지원센터의 권역 확장 사업의 일환으로, 최근 공개모집을 통해 최종 6개소를 선정해 지난 24일 운영 협약을 체결했다.
이번 사업은 복현동에 위치한 기존 청년센터의 접근성 한계를 보완하고, 북구 곳곳에 청년 커뮤니티가 자연스럽게 형성될 수 있도록 거점을 늘리기 위해 추진됐다. 지난 6월 16일부터 7월 7일까지 실시된 공개 모집엔 총 9개 공간이 지원했으며, 북구는 운영계획과 공간 활용성, 접근성 등 다각적인 기준과 현장 심사를 통해 6곳을 최종 선정했다.
선정된 공간들은 오는 8월 중순부터 11월 말까지 '미니 청년센터'로 운영된다. 각 공간의 운영자가 주도해 작가와의 만남, 독서토론, 공연, 취미활동, 명상, 체력 증진 등, 공간 특성에 맞는 다양한 프로그램을 선보일 예정이다.
특히, 이번 미니 청년센터는 강북지역 4곳, 강남지역 2곳으로 배치돼 기존 청년센터 접근이 어려웠던 강북 청년들의 이용이 한결 수월해질 전망이다. 북구 측은 이를 통해 지역 내 청년 네트워크와 서비스 제공의 균형을 맞췄다고 밝혔다.
북구청년꿈드림지원센터는 참여 공간들과 구체적인 운영 계획을 협의해 다음 달부터 프로그램을 차례로 진행할 예정이다. 또, 작은 거점 중심으로 청년 네트워크를 점차 넓혀가며 지역 청년문화 활성화를 돕는다는 계획이다.
이근수 북구청장은 "구 전역에 청년들이 자유롭게 모이고 소통할 수 있는 미니 청년센터를 마련하게 돼 의미가 깊다"며 "앞으로도 많은 청년이 이 공간을 통해 지역 청년문화의 주역으로 성장하길 기대한다"고 말했다.

Daegu Buk-gu has designated six locations as "Buk-gu-style places" and has begun operations as "Mini Youth Centers" to allow young people to enjoy various programs close to home.

A total of nine spaces applied during the open recruitment held from June 16 to July 7. The selected spaces will operate as "Mini Youth Centers" from mid-August until the end of November. Operators of each space will lead the initiative to present a variety of programs tailored to the characteristics of the venue, including author meet-and-greets, book discussions, performances, hobby activities, meditation, and physical fitness.
In particular, these mini youth centers are strategically located with four in the Gangbuk area and two in the Gangnam area, making it much easier for young people in Gangbuk, who previously had difficulty accessing existing youth centers, to utilize them.
