【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구 북구가 지역 사회 내 의료기관과의 협력체계를 넓히며, 통합돌봄 서비스 구축에 속도를 내고 있다. 최근 북구청은 계명대학교 대구동산병원 호스피스센터, 대구삼선병원과 손잡고 의료·요양 통합돌봄사업의 원활한 추진을 위한 업무협약을 맺었다고 28일 밝혔다.

이번 협약으로 두 병원이 협력기관으로 새롭게 참여하게 됨에 따라, 생애말기 환자와 퇴원 환자를 위한 돌봄 지원이 한층 강화될 전망이다. 특히 가정형 호스피스를 이용하는 말기암 환자나 퇴원 후에도 지속적인 돌봄이 필요한 이들이 익숙한 가정에서 안심하고 치료와 복지서비스를 받을 수 있도록 의료와 복지 연계가 대폭 확대된다.

계명대학교 대구동산병원은 가정형 호스피스 대상자를 북구에 연계하고, 통증 관리와 약물치료 등 의료서비스를 지원한다. 대구삼선병원은 퇴원 이후 돌봄이 필요한 환자를 찾아 북구에 의뢰하면, 북구는 해당 대상자에게 맞춤형 돌봄서비스와 가사·식사·일상 지원 등을 제공할 예정이다.

그동안 북구는 칠곡경북대학교병원과 함께 ‘북구형 생애말기 안심돌봄 서비스’를 운영해 왔는데, 이번 협약으로 협력 의료기관이 늘어나면서 생애말기 환자뿐 아니라 퇴원환자까지 아우르는 통합돌봄 안전망이 한층 촘촘해질 것으로 기대된다.

북구는 앞으로도 의료기관과의 긴밀한 협력을 바탕으로 대상자 발굴과 연계 체계를 강화하고, 의료와 복지를 아우르는 통합서비스를 꾸준히 확대해 지역사회 중심의 돌봄체계를 완성해 나간다는 계획이다.

이근수 북구청장은 “의료기관과 공공기관이 힘을 합쳐 의료와 돌봄을 끊김없이 연결하는 협력체계를 만들겠다”며 “돌봄이 필요한 주민 모두가 익숙한 내 집에서 안전하게 지낼 수 있도록 꼼꼼한 통합돌봄 서비스를 제공하겠다”고 말했다.
