경상북도는 30일 도청 화백당에서 '민선 9기 경상북도 투자유치특별위원회 출범식'을 열고 투자유치 정책 자문과 국내외 투자 네트워크 확대를 위한 본격적인 활동에 돌입했다고 밝혔다.
이날 행사에는 이철우 경북도지사를 비롯해 공동위원장인 이희범 한국정신문화재단 이사장과 이순우 셀트리온 경영고문, 투자유치특별위원, 시·군 투자유치 담당 공무원, 언론인 등 50여 명이 참석했다.
출범식에서는 위촉장 수여를 시작으로 도정 주요 현안과 민선 9기 투자유치 전략을 공유하고, 위원회 운영계획과 투자 활성화 방안에 대한 의견을 나누는 순서로 진행됐다.
투자유치특별위원회는 이철우 도지사와 이희범 이사장, 이순우 셀트리온 경영고문, 주영섭 서울대학교 특임교수를 공동위원장으로 하고 기업과 금융, 학계, 언론, 유관기관 등 다양한 분야 전문가 39명으로 구성됐다. 위원회는 앞으로 2년간 투자기업 발굴과 투자유치 정책 자문, 산업단지 분양 활성화, 국내외 투자 네트워크 구축 등 투자유치 정책 전반에 대한 자문 역할을 맡는다.
특히 이번 위원회는 삼성과 SK, LIG 등 주요 기업 출신 임원과 첨단산업 분야 전문가를 보강해 반도체와 인공지능(AI), 이차전지, 바이오, 방위산업 등 미래 성장산업 중심의 투자유치 경쟁력을 높이는 데 역량을 집중할 계획이다.
경북도는 민선 8기 동안 총 46조5천억 원 규모의 투자유치를 이끌어내고 3만8천여 개의 일자리를 창출했으며, 데이터센터와 이차전지, 반도체, 바이오 분야를 중심으로 미래 산업 기반을 확대해 왔다.
도는 민선 9기 들어 인공지능 기반 산업 전환(AX), 첨단 전략산업 중심의 투자생태계 조성, 글로벌 투자 네트워크 확대를 핵심 과제로 설정하고 세계적 수준의 투자 거점 조성에 속도를 낸다는 방침이다.
아울러 국내외 금융기관과 글로벌 기업과의 협력을 강화하고, 투자유치특별위원들의 산업 경험과 네트워크를 활용해 미래 전략산업 분야 우량기업 유치 활동도 확대할 계획이다.
이철우 경북도지사는 "글로벌 투자 경쟁이 치열해지는 상황에서는 행정의 노력만으로는 한계가 있는 만큼 기업과 산업 전문가들의 경험과 네트워크를 적극 활용하는 것이 중요하다"며 "투자유치특별위원회가 미래 산업의 흐름을 선제적으로 파악해 경북의 새로운 성장동력을 발굴하는 역할을 해주길 기대한다"고 말했다.
이어 "기업이 투자 지역을 선택할 때는 산업단지와 용수, 전력, 물류 등 기반시설이 중요한 요소"라며 "철강과 반도체, 이차전지, 바이오 등 경북의 주력산업에 AI를 접목하고 대구경북신공항과 영일만항을 활용한 물류 경쟁력을 강화하는 한편, 규제 개선부터 부지 제공, 행정·자금 지원까지 아우르는 원스톱 지원체계를 구축해 글로벌 투자 중심지로 도약하겠다"고 밝혔다.

During the 8th popular election term, Gyeongbuk Province attracted a total of 46.5 trillion won in investment and created over 38,000 jobs, while expanding its foundation for future industries with a focus on data centers, secondary batteries, semiconductors, and biotechnology. With the start of the 9th popular election, the provincial government has set the AI-based industrial transformation (AX), the creation of an investment ecosystem centered on advanced strategic industries, and the expansion of global investment networks as key tasks, and plans to accelerate the establishment of world-class investment hubs.
In addition, the province plans to strengthen cooperation with domestic and international financial institutions and global companies, and expand efforts to attract blue-chip companies in future strategic industries by leveraging the industrial experience and networks of the Special Committee on Investment Attraction.

He continued, "Infrastructure such as industrial complexes, water, electricity, and logistics are important factors when companies select an investment region," adding, "We will leap forward as a global investment hub by integrating AI into Gyeongbuk's key industries—such as steel, semiconductors, secondary batteries, and biotechnology—and strengthening logistics competitiveness by utilizing the Daegu-Gyeongbuk New Airport and Yeongilman Port, while establishing a one-stop support system that encompasses everything from regulatory improvements and land provision to administrative and financial assistance."
