군은 지난 31일 군청 재난안전상황실에서 폭염·가뭄 대응 상황 점검회의를 열고 분야별 추진 현황과 향후 대응 방안을 종합적으로 점검했다고 밝혔다.

이날 회의는 허윤홍 부군수 주재로 열렸으며 안전과를 비롯해 가족지원과, 농정과, 축산과, 경제교통과, 건설과, 농촌인력추진단, 보건소, 농업기술센터, 상하수도사업소 등 관계 부서장들이 참석해 재난 대응 상황을 공유하고 협력 방안을 논의했다.

참석자들은 폭염 장기화에 따른 인명 피해 예방과 농업·축산 분야 피해 최소화를 위한 대책을 집중적으로 살펴보고, 가뭄 상황에 대비한 용수 확보와 비상 대응체계 운영 방안도 함께 점검했다.

허윤홍 부군수는 회의에서 폭염으로 인한 인명 피해가 발생하지 않도록 취약계층 보호와 현장 대응을 한층 강화할 것을 주문했다. 이어 예년보다 적은 강수량으로 가뭄 우려가 커지고 있는 만큼 사전 대응체계를 철저히 가동해 피해를 최소화해야 한다고 강조했다.

성주군은 폭염 피해를 줄이기 위해 무더위쉼터와 그늘막 등 폭염 저감시설을 운영하고, 생수와 모자 등 폭염 대응 물품을 지원하고 있다. 또한 쉼터 냉방기 설치를 비롯해 취약계층 안부 확인, 노인일자리사업 탄력 운영, 밭작물 피해 예방 지원, 영농현장 예찰과 홍보, 축산농가 지원, 살수차 운영 등 다각적인 대책을 추진 중이다.
