【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구한의대학교 국제협력선도대학사업단이 지난달 23일부터 25일까지 베트남 호치민 SECC에서 열린 '비엣뷰티 2026' 박람회에 참가해, 학생 캡스톤디자인 결과물과 베트남 대학과의 공동 개발 브랜드를 공개했다.

이번 박람회에서 대구한의대는 베트남 호치민기술대학교(HCMUT)와 함께 운영해온 캡스톤디자인 교과목의 성과를 선보였다. 양교 학생들은 공동 기획과 연구로 천연소재를 활용한 화장품 시제품을 개발, 현장에서 직접 전시했다. 특히 두 대학이 힘을 모아 만든 글로벌 뷰티 브랜드 ‘이스턴 캐비닛’도 이번 박람회를 통해 처음 공개됐다. 부스에서는 향수 체험 프로그램 ‘더 센트 저니’를 마련해 방문객들이 여러 향료를 직접 시향하는 기회도 제공했다.

이번 참가로 대구한의대는 교육부 국제협력선도대학사업(ODA)의 교육·연구·산학협력 모델을 베트남 현지에 알릴 수 있었다. 또 베트남 대학, 산업계, 관련 기관들과의 후속 협력 방안도 적극적으로 논의했다. 앞으로 공동연구, 기술이전, 학생 인턴십 등 다양한 협력이 이어질 것으로 대학 측은 기대하고 있다.

대구한의대는 이번 박람회를 계기로 현지 기업들과 샘플 테스트, 공동연구를 진행하는 한편, 학생 주도의 글로벌 프로젝트 확대와 산학협력 네트워크 강화를 통해 K-뷰티 교육모델과 지역 뷰티산업의 세계 시장 경쟁력 제고에 힘쓸 계획이다.

유왕근 국제협력선도대학사업단장은 “이번 박람회는 학생들의 글로벌 실무 역량과 국제 산학협력 성과를 해외에 알릴 수 있었던 뜻깊은 자리였다”며, “앞으로도 해외 대학과의 공동교육과 공동연구를 지속적으로 확대해 글로벌 산학협력 모델을 만들어 나가겠다”고 말했다.

Daegu Hani University’s International Cooperation Leading University Project Team participated in the ‘VietBeauty 2026’ expo, held at the SECC in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, from the 23rd to the 25th of last month, and unveiled student capstone design results and a brand jointly developed with a Vietnamese university.

At the expo, Daegu Hani University showcased the achievements of the capstone design course it has been operating in collaboration with Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT). Students from both universities developed cosmetic prototypes utilizing natural materials through joint planning and research, which were exhibited on-site. In particular, the global beauty brand ‘Eastern Cabinet,’ created through the joint efforts of the two universities, was also unveiled for the first time at this expo. The booth also hosted a perfume experience program called ‘The Scent Journey,’ providing visitors with the opportunity to sample various fragrances firsthand.

Through this participation, Daegu Hani University was able to promote its education, research, and industry-academia cooperation models under the Ministry of Education’s International Cooperation Leading University Project (ODA) to the local Vietnamese audience. Furthermore, the university actively discussed follow-up cooperation plans with Vietnamese universities, industry, and related institutions. The university anticipates that various forms of cooperation, including joint research, technology transfer, and student internships, will continue in the future.

Taking this expo as an opportunity, Daegu Hani University plans to conduct sample testing and joint research with local companies. Furthermore, the university intends to strive to enhance the global competitiveness of its K-Beauty education model and the local beauty industry by expanding student-led global projects and strengthening industry-academia cooperation networks.

Yoo Wang-geun, Director of the Leading University for International Cooperation Project, stated, "This expo was a meaningful occasion to showcase students' global practical capabilities and the achievements of international industry-academia cooperation to the world." He added, "We will continue to expand joint education and research with overseas universities to build a global industry-academia cooperation model."
