【브레이크뉴스 경북】진예솔 기자=경북교육청이 농어촌과 소규모 학교 학생들의 과목 선택권을 넓히기 위해 경북온라인학교를 중심으로 여름방학 기간 온라인 공동교육과정을 운영하고 있다.

3일 경북교육청에 따르면, 고교학점제가 전면 시행됨에 따라 각 학교별로 개설이 어려운 과목을 원격으로 제공해, 지역 간 교육격차 해소에 힘쓰고 있다.

올해 1학기 기준 경북온라인학교의 온라인 공동교육과정에는 도내 46개 고등학교에서 약 660명의 학생이 참여하고 있으며, 총 53개의 강좌가 운영되고 있다.

이번 여름 계절학기에는 일반계 고등학생을 대상으로 ‘물리 과제연구’ 과목이 개설됐다. 이 과목은 지난달 21일부터 이달 3일까지 12일간, 총 48차시에 걸쳐 실시간 쌍방향 원격수업으로 진행됐다. 수강생 35명 가운데 읍·면 지역 학생들이 우선 선발됐다.

수업은 연구 주제 선정부터 실험 설계와 수행, 결과 분석, 보고서 작성, 발표까지 조별 프로젝트 중심으로 이뤄졌다. 이를 통해 학생들은 문제해결력과 협업 능력, 자기주도학습 역량을 키울 수 있었다. 지도는 경북온라인학교 최재혁 교사가 맡았다.

경북교육청은 온라인 공동교육과정을 통해 학교별 교원 및 학생 수 등 여건상 개설이 어려운 심화·융합 과목을 제공해 학생들의 과목 선택권을 넓히고, 지역 간 교육격차를 해소하는 데 기대를 걸고 있다.

임종식 경북교육감은 “학생이 어디에 사는지가 아니라, 무엇을 배우고 싶은지가 교육의 기준이 돼야 한다”며 “경북온라인학교를 중심으로 학생 모두가 자신의 꿈과 진로에 맞는 과목을 자유롭게 선택할 수 있도록 교육과정을 계속 확대해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.
