【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구시청자미디어센터와 대구시교육청이 여름방학을 맞아 청소년 대상 디지털 시민 교육 캠프를 운영하며 미래 인재 양성에 힘을 쏟고 있다.

양 기관이 공동으로 마련한 이번 ‘2026 미디어 나침반 디지털 시민 프로젝트’ 캠프에서는 청소년들이 직접 콘텐츠를 기획하고 촬영, 편집까지 체험하며 영상 제작 전 과정을 경험하고 있다. 캠프는 청소년들이 디지털 권리를 이해하고 올바른 미디어 활용 능력을 기를 수 있도록 설계됐다.

특히 최근 주목받는 생성형 인공지능 등 최신 디지털 기술을 활용해 아이디어를 구체화하고 결과물을 완성해보는 시간이 마련돼 학생들의 창의적 문제 해결력과 디지털 역량 강화에도 초점이 맞춰졌다. 실제 캠프 현장에서는 학생들이 직접 토론하고 협업하며 활발하게 프로그램에 참여하는 모습을 보이고 있다.

7월에는 평일 집중 캠프와 경화여자고등학교 방문형 캠프가 진행됐고, 8월에는 주말 집중 프로그램과 세천초등학교를 찾아가는 캠프가 이어질 예정이다. 학생들이 제작한 영상 콘텐츠는 대구시청자미디어센터 유튜브 채널을 통해 공개돼, 교육 현장에서 탄생한 작품들이 지역사회와 공유된다.

왕현호 대구시청자미디어센터장은 “학생들이 단순히 배우는 데 그치지 않고, 직접 제작하고 표현하며 소통하는 과정에서 큰 몰입을 보였다”며 “남은 캠프도 안전하고 내실 있게 운영해 학생들이 올바른 디지털 시민으로 성장할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.

The Daegu Citizens Media Center and the Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education are focusing their efforts on nurturing future talent by operating digital citizenship education camps for youth during the summer vacation.

In the ‘2026 Media Compass Digital Citizenship Project’ camp, jointly organized by the two organizations, youth are experiencing the entire process of video production by directly planning content and handling everything from filming to editing. The camp is designed to help youth understand digital rights and develop proper media literacy skills.

In July, an intensive weekday camp and a visiting camp at Gyeonghwa Girls' High School were held, and in August, an intensive weekend program and a visiting camp at Secheon Elementary School are scheduled to follow. The video content produced by the students is released through the Daegu Citizens Media Center’s YouTube channel, allowing works created in the educational setting to be shared with the local community.
