대한적십자사 경북지사는 경북 22개 시·군 취약계층을 대상으로 여름이불과 삼계탕을 지원하는 ‘폭염 대비 여름나기 지원사업’을 진행했다고 밝혔다.

이번 지원은 무더위에 취약한 홀몸 어르신과 저소득 가구 등 지역 내 도움이 필요한 이웃들이 보다 안전하고 건강하게 여름을 보낼 수 있도록 마련됐다.

경북적십자사는 각 지역 적십자 봉사원들과 함께 대상 가구를 방문해 여름이불과 보양식인 삼계탕을 전달하고, 폭염 기간 건강관리와 안전수칙도 안내했다.

특히 냉방시설 이용이 어렵거나 폭염에 상대적으로 취약한 가구를 중심으로 지원을 진행해 생활 속 어려움을 살피고 지역사회 돌봄 체계를 강화하는 데 의미를 더했다.

경북적십자사 관계자는 “장기간 이어지는 폭염 속에서 취약계층에게 필요한 것은 물품 지원을 넘어 이웃의 관심과 따뜻한 마음”이라며 “앞으로도 지역 곳곳의 어려운 이웃을 살피고 실질적인 도움이 되는 나눔 활동을 지속해 나가겠다”고 말했다.

한편 경북적십자사는 재난 구호와 취약계층 지원, 지역사회 봉사활동 등 다양한 사업을 통해 도민 안전과 복지 증진을 위한 활동을 이어가고 있다.
