의성군은 지난 3일 최유철 군수 주재로 ‘여름철 자연재난 대책 회의’를 열고 폭염과 풍수해 발생 시 피해 최소화를 위한 부서별 대응 계획을 점검했다고 밝혔다.

이번 회의는 최근 집중호우 대응 과정에서 확인된 개선 사항을 공유하고, 앞으로 발생할 수 있는 추가 피해에 대비해 분야별 실행 방안을 마련하기 위해 진행됐다.

군은 특히 인명피해 우려 지역과 급경사지, 저수지, 하천 시설물 등 재해 취약지역에 대한 현장 예찰 활동을 강화하기로 했다. 위험 징후가 발견될 경우 신속한 상황 공유와 주민 대피가 이뤄질 수 있도록 비상 대응 체계도 함께 점검했다.

폭염 대응 방안도 집중적으로 논의됐다. 의성군은 폭염주의보가 이어지는 상황에서 취약계층과 농업인, 야외 근로자 보호를 위해 무더위 쉼터 운영과 폭염 저감시설 관리를 강화할 계획이다.

이와 함께 살수차와 쿨링포그 등 폭염 대응 시설을 지속 운영하고, 기온이 높은 시간대 야외 활동과 농작업을 자제하도록 주민 홍보도 적극 추진한다.

최유철 의성군수는 “최근 집중호우 대응 경험을 바탕으로 추가적인 호우 피해 예방에 철저히 대비해야 한다”며 “폭염 또한 군민 안전을 위협하는 재난인 만큼 분야별 대응 계획을 꼼꼼히 점검해 군민의 생명과 재산 보호에 최선을 다해달라”고 말했다.
