구미시는 내고1리 무래마을이 행정안전부가 추진하는 ‘2026년 햇빛소득마을’ 1차 공모에 최종 선정됐다고 밝혔다.
무래마을협동조합은 이번 사업을 통해 마을 유휴부지에 991kW 규모의 지상형 태양광 발전시설을 설치하고 에너지저장장치(ESS)도 함께 구축할 계획이다. 다만 기후부의 배전망 ESS 지원계획이 확정된 이후 필요한 전력계통 보완사항을 이행하는 조건으로 사업이 추진된다.
햇빛소득마을은 주민들이 마을 단위로 재생에너지 발전사업에 참여하는 정책이다. 마을공동체가 유휴부지 등을 활용해 태양광 발전시설을 설치하고, 발전 과정에서 발생하는 전력 판매 수익을 주민 복지와 공동체 활성화 등에 활용하는 방식이다.
올해 1차 공모에는 전국 129개 마을이 신청했으며 이 가운데 86개 마을이 최종 대상지로 선정됐다. 경북에서는 모두 8개 마을이 이름을 올렸다. 선정 마을에는 태양광 발전시설 설치비의 최대 85%까지 금융 지원이 이뤄진다.
구미시는 이번 선정을 계기로 무래마을의 사업이 실제 발전시설 구축으로 이어질 수 있도록 후속 행정절차를 지원할 방침이다. 태양광 발전사업 관련 인허가와 전력 계통연계 절차 등을 관계기관과 협의하며 사업 추진에 필요한 행정 지원을 이어갈 계획이다.
지역 내 다른 마을의 참여도 이어지고 있다. 구미시는 지난달 31일 옥성·도개·산동·고아 등 7개 마을을 대상으로 햇빛소득마을 2차 공모 신청을 마쳤다. 2차 공모 결과는 오는 9월 30일 발표될 예정이다.
구미시 관계자는 “주민이 직접 참여하는 재생에너지 사업이 안정적으로 추진될 수 있도록 인허가와 계통연계 등 후속 절차를 적극 지원하겠다”며 “지역 공동체가 에너지 생산을 통해 지속적인 소득을 창출하고 주민 복지로 연결할 수 있도록 관계기관과 협력을 강화하겠다”고 말했다.

Gumi City announced that Murae Village in Naego 1-ri was finally selected in the first round of the ‘2026 Sunshine Income Village’ competition promoted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
Through this project, the Murae Village Cooperative plans to install a 991kW ground-mounted solar power generation facility on idle village land and simultaneously construct an Energy Storage System (ESS). In this year's first round of applications, 129 villages nationwide applied, and 86 of them were selected as final sites. A total of eight villages from Gyeongbuk Province were named. The selected villages will receive financial support covering up to 85% of the installation costs for solar power generation facilities.
Taking this selection as an opportunity, Gumi City plans to support follow-up administrative procedures to ensure that Murae Village's project leads to the actual construction of power generation facilities. The city intends to continue providing the necessary administrative support for the project by consulting with relevant agencies regarding licensing and grid connection procedures related to the solar power business.
Participation from other villages within the region is also continuing. On August 31, Gumi City completed the application process for the second round of the "Sunshine Income Village" program, targeting seven villages including Okseong, Dogae, Sandong, and Goa. The results of the second round are scheduled to be announced on September 30. A Gumi City official stated, “We will actively support follow-up procedures, such as licensing and grid connection, to ensure the stable implementation of renewable energy projects in which residents directly participate,” adding, “We will strengthen cooperation with relevant agencies to enable local communities to generate sustainable income through energy production and connect it to resident welfare.”
