【브레이크뉴스 영덕】박희경 기자=영덕군이 지역 내 초기 창업기업의 사업 기반 마련과 경쟁력 강화를 위한 맞춤형 지원 프로그램을 시작한다.

영덕군은 지난 7일 ‘창업 On 희망 On 프로젝트’ 오리엔테이션을 열고 신규 창업기업을 대상으로 한 지원사업을 본격 운영한다고 밝혔다.

이번 사업은 창업을 준비 중이거나 창업 후 1년이 지나지 않은 기업을 대상으로 진행된다. 영덕군은 총 5개 기업을 선정해 기업별 1,500만원의 사업자금을 지원하고, 초기 사업 운영에 필요한 교육과 컨설팅도 함께 제공한다.

지원 대상 기업에는 창업 아카데미를 비롯해 역량 강화 교육, 분야별 전문가 멘토링, 창업자 간 네트워킹 프로그램 참여 기회 등이 주어진다. 단순한 사업비 지원에 그치지 않고 기업의 경영 역량과 시장 대응력을 높이는 데 초점을 맞췄다.

영덕군은 지난 3월 경상북도가 추진한 ‘2026년 시군 특화 맞춤형 일자리 지원사업’ 공모에 선정되면서 사업 추진을 위한 1억5,000만원의 예산을 확보했다.

군은 관광산업을 기반으로 한 지역 특성상 개인사업자 비중이 높은 만큼 신규 창업자가 안정적으로 사업을 이어갈 수 있도록 초기 단계에서부터 체계적인 지원이 필요하다고 보고 이번 사업을 마련했다.

특히 지역 산업과 소비시장에 대한 이해를 바탕으로 창업기업별 맞춤형 교육과 전문가 지원을 제공해 사업 경쟁력을 높이고, 장기적으로는 창업기업의 지역 정착과 신규 일자리 창출로 이어지도록 한다는 방침이다.

영덕군은 이번 프로젝트를 통해 창업기업과 지역사회가 함께 성장할 수 있는 기반을 마련하고 지속 가능한 지역 창업 생태계를 조성해 나갈 계획이다.

조주홍 영덕군수는 “지역의 산업 여건과 창업기업의 현실적인 수요를 반영한 지원이 이뤄지도록 프로그램을 운영하겠다”며 “초기 창업기업이 안정적으로 성장하고 지역에 뿌리내릴 수 있도록 지원해 지역경제의 선순환 구조를 만들어가겠다”고 말했다.

Yeongdeok County is launching a customized support program to establish a business foundation and strengthen the competitiveness of early-stage startups within the region.

Yeongdeok County announced on the 7th that it held an orientation for the "Startup On Hope On Project" and is officially beginning the operation of support programs for new startups.

This program targets companies that are preparing to launch a business or have been in operation for less than a year. Yeongdeok County will select a total of five companies, providing each with 15 million won in business funds, along with training and consulting necessary for initial business operations.

The supported companies will be given opportunities to participate in the Startup Academy, capacity-building training, mentoring by industry experts, and networking programs among founders. The program focuses on enhancing the companies' management capabilities and market responsiveness, going beyond simple financial support.

Yeongdeok County secured a budget of 150 million won to implement the project after being selected in the open competition for the ‘2026 City/County Specialized Customized Job Support Project’ promoted by Gyeongsangbuk-do Province last March.

The county established this project based on the understanding that systematic support is necessary from the initial stages to ensure new entrepreneurs can stably continue their businesses, given the high proportion of sole proprietors in the region due to its tourism-based characteristics.

In particular, the county plans to enhance business competitiveness by providing customized training and expert support to each startup based on an understanding of local industries and consumer markets. The long-term goal is to facilitate the settlement of startups in the region and the creation of new jobs.

Through this project, Yeongdeok County plans to lay the foundation for the mutual growth of startups and the local community and to foster a sustainable local startup ecosystem.

Yeongdeok County Governor Jo Joo-hong stated, “We will operate the program to ensure support reflects the region’s industrial conditions and the realistic needs of startups,” adding, “We will support early-stage startups so they can grow stably and take root in the region, thereby creating a virtuous cycle for the local economy.”
