영천시는 오는 9월 1일부터 30일까지 예산이 소진될 때까지 지류형과 카드형 영천사랑상품권을 기존 10%보다 5%포인트 높은 15% 할인율로 특별 판매한다고 밝혔다.
이번 특별할인은 고물가와 고금리 등으로 위축된 소비 여건 속에서 시민들의 명절 지출 부담을 줄이고, 전통시장과 골목상권 등 지역 소상공인의 매출 회복을 지원하기 위해 마련됐다.
개인별 월 할인 구매 한도는 카드형 90만 원과 지류형 10만 원을 합쳐 최대 100만 원이다. 월 한도까지 구매할 경우 15% 할인 적용으로 최대 15만 원의 혜택을 받을 수 있다. 법인과 단체는 할인 구매 대상에서 제외된다.
상품권은 농협은행과 IM뱅크, 지역 농·축협, 새마을금고, 신협 등 지역 내 42개 금융기관에서 구매할 수 있다. 카드형 상품권은 지역상품권 ‘chak’ 애플리케이션을 통해서도 구매 가능하다.

영천시는 할인율 확대에 따른 부정 유통 가능성을 줄이기 위한 관리도 강화한다. 상품권 관리시스템을 활용해 구매와 환전 이력을 지속적으로 살피고, 부정거래가 의심되는 가맹점에 대해서는 현장 점검을 실시할 방침이다.
