두 경찰관은 지난 7월 28일 발생한 보릿돌교 붕괴사고 당시 현장으로 신속히 출동해 구조 활동을 벌였다. 이들은 교량 붕괴로 현장에 발이 묶인 17명을 모두 안전한 곳으로 대피시키는 데 기여했다.
