Major artifacts from the Silla Dynasty, including gold crowns and gold bells excavated from Geumnyeongchong Tomb in Gyeongju, will be gathered in Cheongdo and exhibited in one place.

Cheongdo County announced on the 16th that it will hold the "National Treasure Touring Exhibition – Gold Crowns and Gold Bells: Together with Young Souls" at the Cheongdo Museum from September 8 to November 22.

This exhibition was organized through a collaboration between the National Museum of Korea, the Gyeongju National Museum, and Cheongdo County. Visitors will be able to see representative artifacts of the Silla period up close, such as the gold crown, gold belt, and gold bells discovered at Geumnyeongchong Tomb.

Geumnyeongchong Tomb is an ancient Silla tomb excavated in 1924, believed to be the tomb of a young royal based on its artifacts and structure. This exhibition is significant in that it sheds light on the level of Silla metalwork through artifacts that showcase the funeral culture of the time, such as the magnificent gold crown and gold bells.

Cheongdo County has entered the final stages of preparation, including ensuring the safe transportation of artifacts, establishing the exhibition environment, preparing for the opening ceremony, and organizing related programs. Various hands-on experiences and participatory events will take place during the exhibition period. On October 3rd and 4th, the "Golden Culture Festival," featuring a blend of metalwork experiences and cultural performances, will be held, while a special lecture by Professor Lee Han-sang, an authority on Silla gold crown research, is scheduled for October 7th.

Programs designed to enhance accessibility have also been prepared so that everyone can easily enjoy the exhibition. These include "Exhibition for All," which offers tactile artifact experiences and sign language interpretation for the developmentally and visually/hearing impaired; the "Gold Crown Bus," designed to assist seniors with mobility; and cultural education programs visiting elementary school students.

Cheongdo County Governor Park Kwon-hyun stated, "This National Treasure Touring Exhibition is the result of meaningful cooperation among the three institutions," adding, "We will do our utmost to prepare everything from the opening ceremony to the related programs to ensure satisfaction for both residents and tourists."
