대구TP는 지난 28일 대전역 한국철도공사 본사 대회의실에서 열린 시상식에서 단체부문 최우수상을 수상했다고 31일 밝혔다.
‘대한민국 자치경찰대상’은 한국지방자치학회가 주최하는 행사로, 지역 특성에 맞는 자치경찰 활동을 발굴하고 주민이 체감할 수 있는 치안서비스 확산을 위해 마련됐다. 자치경찰제의 안정적인 정착과 지역사회 안전을 위한 협력체계 강화도 주요 목적이다.
단체부문에서는 정책 및 사업 성과와 주민 체감도, 지역 특성에 따른 문제 해결 여부, 기관·주민 간 협력체계, 사업의 지속가능성, 혁신성과 다른 지역으로의 확산 가능성 등을 종합적으로 평가했다.
대구TP는 기존의 인력 중심 순찰 방식에서 벗어나 AI와 드론 등 첨단기술을 접목한 디지털 순찰 서비스를 지역 현장에 적용한 점에서 높은 평가를 받은 것으로 알려졌다.
대구TP는 2025년 대구 남구 대덕초등학교 주변을 대상으로 ‘AI·드론 기반 사회적 약자 보호형 디지털 순찰 서비스’를 구축했다. 학교 인근과 생활안전 취약지역의 위험요인을 AI 기술로 분석하고, 이상 징후가 확인될 경우 경찰과 지자체 등 관계기관의 대응을 지원하는 방식이다.
불법 주정차 등 안전사고 위험이 높은 지역에 대해서도 AI 분석을 활용한 집중 관리체계를 마련해 생활안전 사각지대를 줄이는 데 힘을 보탰다.
주민 참여를 기반으로 한 치안리빙랩 운영도 주요 성과로 꼽힌다. 지역 주민과 학부모, 교사 등이 직접 생활 주변의 치안 문제를 제안하면 이를 바탕으로 해결 방안을 검토하고, 현장에서 제시된 의견을 드론 순찰 동선과 AI 분석 알고리즘 개선에 반영했다.
기관 간 협업도 강화했다. 대구자치경찰위원회와 대구경찰청 등을 중심으로 과학치안 협력체계를 구축해 기술을 실제 치안 현장에 적용할 수 있는 기반을 마련했다.
이와 함께 대구 지역 경찰과 범죄예방담당관(CPO)을 대상으로 범죄예방환경설계(CPTED)를 비롯한 과학치안 교육과정을 운영해 100여 명의 수료자를 배출했다. 기술 활용뿐 아니라 현장 치안 인력의 전문성을 높이는 데도 주력했다.

The ‘Korea Autonomous Police Awards’ is an event hosted by the Korean Association for Local Government Studies, established to discover autonomous police activities tailored to regional characteristics and to expand policing services that residents can experience firsthand. This system analyzes risk factors in areas near schools and vulnerable zones for daily safety using AI technology, and supports the response of relevant agencies, such as the police and local governments, when abnormal signs are detected.
By establishing an intensive management system utilizing AI analysis for areas with a high risk of safety accidents, such as illegal parking, it contributed to reducing blind spots in daily safety.
The operation of a public safety living lab based on resident participation is also cited as a major achievement. When local residents, parents, and teachers directly proposed public safety issues in their daily lives, solutions were reviewed based on these suggestions, and feedback provided on-site was reflected in improvements to drone patrol routes and AI analysis algorithms.
