영진전문대학교 응급구조교육센터는 대구소방안전본부의 위탁으로 지난 6월 29일부터 8월 31일까지 소방공무원 20명을 대상으로 ‘2급 응급구조사 양성과정’을 운영하고, 교육을 성공적으로 마쳤다고 밝혔다.

이번 교육 과정에서는 기존의 이론 중심 수업을 넘어, 다양한 시뮬레이션과 시나리오 기반 실습을 강화해 실제 응급환자 발생 시 현장 대응력 향상에 초점을 뒀다.

참여한 교육생들은 추락 환자의 상태를 확인하고 처치, 이송하는 과정과 함께, 목 부위 자상 환자의 출혈을 직접 압박하거나 석션하는 등 실전에 가까운 시나리오 훈련을 반복해 경험을 쌓았다.

아울러 긴급 상황에서 학습 효과를 극대화하기 위해 전문 교수진과 임상·현장 경험이 풍부한 강사진이 함께 참여해, 대학의 교육 인프라와 실제 소방 현장 경험이 유기적으로 연결됐다.

교육을 마친 소방공무원들은 “실습을 통해 현장에서 요구되는 응급처치 능력을 크게 높일 수 있었다”며 만족감을 표했다. 윤희지 강서소방서 다사119안전센터 소방공무원은 “이번 교육을 통해 현장에서 반드시 필요한 응급처치 역량을 한층 더 갖출 수 있어 뜻깊었다”고 전했다.

영진전문대는 이번 교육을 통해 소방공무원들의 응급처치 능력이 한층 높아져, 병원 도착 전 단계의 응급의료 서비스 질이 향상될 것으로 기대하고 있다.

이양선 영진전문대 응급구조교육센터장은 “2급 응급구조사 양성과정은 단순히 자격 취득을 넘어, 실제 현장에서 시민의 생명을 지키는 전문 역량을 갖추는 데 초점을 맞추고 있다”며 “앞으로도 소방기관과의 긴밀한 협력을 통해 현장 수요를 반영한 실무 중심 교육을 지속적으로 발전시켜 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.

The Emergency Medical Services Education Center at Yeongjin College announced that it successfully completed the "Level 2 Emergency Medical Technician Training Course," which was commissioned by the Daegu Fire Safety Headquarters and ran for 20 firefighters from June 29 to August 31.

This course focused on enhancing on-site response capabilities in the event of actual medical emergencies by moving beyond traditional theory-based classes and strengthening various simulations and scenario-based practical training.

Participating trainees gained experience through repeated scenario-based drills that closely resembled real-life situations, such as assessing the condition of patients who have fallen, treating them, and transporting them, as well as directly compressing and suctioning bleeding from patients with neck lacerations.

Furthermore, to maximize learning effectiveness in emergency situations, professional faculty members and instructors with extensive clinical and field experience participated together, organically linking the university's educational infrastructure with actual firefighting field experience. Firefighters who completed the training expressed their satisfaction, stating, “Through practical training, we were able to significantly enhance the emergency medical skills required in the field.” Yoon Hee-ji, a firefighter at the Dasa 119 Safety Center of the Gangseo Fire Station, remarked, “It was meaningful to be able to further acquire the emergency medical capabilities absolutely necessary in the field through this training.”

Yeongjin College expects that this training will significantly improve the emergency medical skills of firefighters, thereby enhancing the quality of emergency medical services in the pre-hospital stage.

Lee Yang-seon, Director of the Emergency Medical Service Education Center at Yeongjin College, stated, “The Level 2 Emergency Medical Technician training course focuses on equipping personnel with professional capabilities to protect citizens’ lives in real-world situations, going beyond mere qualification acquisition.” He added, “We will continue to develop practical, field-oriented education that reflects on-site demands through close cooperation with fire departments.”
