영천시는 3일 신녕문화센터에서 지역 농업인과 어르신 등 주민을 대상으로 올해 두 번째 ‘농촌왕진버스’를 운영했다고 밝혔다.

농촌왕진버스는 의료 접근성이 상대적으로 낮은 농촌지역을 직접 찾아가 주민들에게 한방진료와 근골격계 질환 관리, 시력검사 등 다양한 의료서비스를 제공하는 사업이다.

이번 행사는 신녕농협과 함께 마련됐으며, 주민들의 건강 상태와 생활 특성을 고려한 맞춤형 프로그램이 진행됐다.

현장에서는 대구한의대학교 한방병원 의료진이 한방진료를 실시했으며, 연세대스포츠재활연구소는 주민별 신체 상태를 확인한 뒤 1대1 맞춤형 운동 처방을 제공했다.

이와 함께 정밀 시력검사를 통한 검안과 돋보기 지원, 치매 조기검진 등도 진행돼 평소 병원이나 전문 의료기관을 찾기 어려웠던 주민들의 건강관리를 도왔다.

이구권 신녕농협 조합장은 “의료시설 이용에 불편을 겪는 주민들에게 필요한 의료서비스를 한자리에서 제공할 수 있어 의미가 있다”며 “앞으로도 조합원들의 건강과 복지 향상을 위한 지원을 이어가겠다”고 말했다.

김병삼 영천시장은 “농촌왕진버스는 의료서비스 제공을 넘어 농촌지역의 건강관리 공백을 줄이는 데 의미가 있다”며 “앞으로 예정된 사업도 차질 없이 추진해 농촌 주민들이 보다 나은 의료서비스를 받을 수 있도록 노력하겠다”고 밝혔다.

영천시는 올해 모두 3개 권역을 대상으로 농촌왕진버스 사업을 추진하고 있다. 앞서 한 차례 운영을 마친 데 이어 오는 10월에는 고경권역에서 세 번째 사업을 진행할 예정이다.

Yeongcheon City announced on the 3rd that it operated its second "Rural Medical Bus" of the year at the Sinnyeong Cultural Center, targeting local farmers, senior citizens, and other residents.

The Rural Medical Bus is a project that directly visits rural areas with relatively low medical accessibility to provide residents with various medical services, including traditional Korean medicine treatments, management of musculoskeletal disorders, and vision tests.

This event was organized in collaboration with Sinnyeong Agricultural Cooperative, and featured customized programs tailored to the residents' health conditions and lifestyles.

On-site, medical staff from the Daegu Oriental Medicine University Hospital provided traditional Korean medicine treatments, while the Yonsei University Sports Rehabilitation Research Institute assessed each resident's physical condition and provided personalized one-on-one exercise prescriptions. In addition, services such as precise eye exams, provision of reading glasses, and early dementia screenings were conducted, helping residents who usually find it difficult to visit hospitals or specialized medical institutions manage their health.

Lee Gu-kwon, Chairman of the Sinnyeong Agricultural Cooperative, stated, "It is meaningful to be able to provide necessary medical services in one place to residents who experience inconvenience in using medical facilities," adding, "We will continue to provide support to improve the health and welfare of our members."

Yeongcheon Mayor Kim Byeong-sam said, "The Rural Visiting Bus is significant not only for providing medical services but also for reducing the gap in healthcare management in rural areas," and added, "We will strive to ensure that planned projects proceed without setbacks so that rural residents can receive better medical services."

Yeongcheon City is implementing the Rural Visiting Bus project across a total of three zones this year. Following the completion of one round of operations, the third project is scheduled to take place in the Gogyeong zone this coming October.
