【브레이크뉴스 경북 】이성현 기자=경상북도의회가 도의원들의 정책 역량 강화와 효율적인 의정활동 수행을 위한 ‘2026년 경상북도의회 의원 연찬회’를 개최하고 1박 2일간의 일정에 들어갔다.

경북도의회는 3일 오후 4시 포항 라한호텔에서 도의원 및 의회사무처 관계자 등이 참석한 가운데 연찬회 개회식을 갖고 본격적인 연수 일정에 착수했다.

이번 연찬회는 행정사무감사와 예산안 심사를 앞두고 의원들의 실무 대응 능력을 향상시키는 한편, 도정 현안에 대한 정책적 대안을 모색하기 위해 마련됐다.

연찬회 첫날인 3일에는 전문 강사를 초빙해 의정활동에 필수적인 조례 제·개정 기법, 예·결산 심사 실무, 행정사무감사 전략 등에 대한 특강이 진행됐다. 

이어 참석자들은 경북 지역의 주요 현안과 민생 경제 활성화 방안을 두고 자유롭게 의견을 나누는 소통의 시간을 가졌다.둘째날인 4일에는 포항 지역 주요 현장을 방문해 현장 의정활동을 펼친 뒤 연찬회 일정을 마무리할 예정이다.

이번 연찬회는 최근 가중되는 지역 경제의 어려움 속에서 집행부에 대한 견제와 감시라는 의회 본연의 기능을 강화하고, 실질적인 정책 의회로서의 위상을 정립하는 데 초점이 맞춰졌다. 특히 현장 중심의 소통과 내실 있는 연수를 통해 도민이 체감할 수 있는 민생 중심의 의정 성과를 도출하겠다는 의지가 담겼다.

경북도의회 관계자는 “이번 연찬회는 도의원들의 전문성을 한층 높이고 도민의 삶의 질 향상을 위한 정책적 지혜를 모으는 중요한 자리가 될 것”이라며 “연찬회를 통해 도출된 의견과 역량을 바탕으로 한층 발전된 의정활동을 펼쳐 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.

The Gyeongsangbuk-do Provincial Council has launched the "2026 Gyeongsangbuk-do Provincial Council Members' Workshop" to strengthen the policy capabilities of council members and ensure efficient legislative activities, beginning a two-day, one-night schedule.

The Gyeongsangbuk-do Provincial Council held an opening ceremony at 4 p.m. on the 3rd at the Lahan Hotel in Pohang, attended by council members and officials from the Council Secretariat, and officially commenced the training schedule.

This workshop was organized to enhance the practical response capabilities of council members ahead of administrative audits and budget reviews, while also seeking policy alternatives for pending provincial issues.

On the 3rd, the first day of the workshop, expert lecturers were invited to deliver special lectures on essential legislative activities, including techniques for enacting and amending ordinances, practical aspects of budget and settlement reviews, and strategies for administrative audits. Following this, the participants engaged in a time of open communication, freely exchanging opinions on major pending issues in the Gyeongbuk region and measures to revitalize the local economy. On the second day, the 4th, they are scheduled to visit key sites in the Pohang area to conduct on-site legislative activities before concluding the workshop.

This workshop focused on strengthening the Assembly's fundamental functions of checks and balances on the executive branch amidst the recent intensification of regional economic difficulties, and on establishing its status as a substantive policy-making assembly. In particular, it embodies a determination to produce livelihood-oriented legislative achievements that residents can tangibly experience through field-oriented communication and substantial training.

An official from the Gyeongbuk Provincial Assembly stated, "This workshop will be an important occasion to further enhance the expertise of provincial assembly members and gather policy wisdom to improve the quality of life for residents," adding, "We will carry out further developed legislative activities based on the opinions and capabilities derived from this workshop."
