【브레이크뉴스 】이성현 기자=갑작스런 집중 호우로 삶의 터전을 잃어버린 경남 거제와 통영 지역 주민들을 돕는 손길이 이어지는 가운데 대구광역시의회(의장 임인환)도 힘을 보탰다. 

대구시의회에 따르면 임인환 의장과 하중환 운영위원장은 4일 오후 경북남도의회를 방문해 대구시의회 의원 및 직원들이 자발적으로 모금한 성금 1천만원을 전달했다.

전달된 성금은 사회복지공동모금회를 통해 거제와 통영 등 경남 호우 피해지역에 지정 기탁될 예정이다.

대구시의회는 “갑작스러운 집중호우로 삶의 터전을 잃고 어려움을 겪고 있는 피해 주민들의 아픔을 함께 나누고, 피해지역의 조속한 복구와 일상 회복을 돕고 싶었다”고 밝혔다. 

임인환 의장도 “갑작스러운 호우로 큰 피해를 입은 거제와 통영지역 주민들께 깊은 위로의 말씀을 드린다”며 “대구와 경남이 서로 힘을 모아 이번 어려움을 잘 극복하고, 피해지역이 하루빨리 평온한 일상을 되찾기를 바란다”고 말했다.

대구시의회는 앞으로도 재난·재해 등으로 어려움을 겪는 지역과 주민들에게 실질적인 도움을 줄 수 있도록 나눔과 연대의 활동을 지속해 나가겠다고 덧붙였다.

The donated funds are scheduled to be designated and entrusted to flood-affected areas in South Gyeongsang Province, including Geoje and Tongyeong, through the Community Chest of Korea.

The Daegu City Council stated, "We wanted to share the pain of the victims who have lost their homes and are suffering due to the sudden torrential rains, and to help with the speedy recovery of the affected areas and the return to normalcy." Chairman Im In-hwan also stated, “I offer my deepest condolences to the residents of Geoje and Tongyeong who have suffered significant damage from the sudden heavy rainfall,” adding, “I hope that Daegu and Gyeongnam will join forces to overcome this hardship and that the affected areas will return to their peaceful daily lives as soon as possible.”

The Daegu City Council added that it will continue its activities of sharing and solidarity to provide practical assistance to regions and residents facing difficulties due to disasters and calamities.
