포항시는 7일 시청 대회의실에서 박용선 포항시장 주재로 9월 확대간부회의를 개최했다. 이날 회의에서는 상반기 적극행정 우수공무원 시상과 함께 추석 연휴 기간 시민 안전과 민생 안정을 위한 부서별 대책이 논의됐다.

적극행정 우수공무원 시상에서는 적극행정위원회 심사를 거쳐 최우수상과 우수상 수상자 등 모두 8명이 선정됐다.

최우수상은 영일만4일반산업단지 조성공사 과정에서 관련 법령과 계약 내용을 적극적으로 검토해 사업비 절감에 기여한 도시계획과 산업단지조성팀이 받았다.

우수상에는 생성형 AI와 자동화 기술을 행정업무에 적용해 반복 업무를 효율화한 정보통신과 원창빈 주무관, 관계기관과 협업해 환경사고에 대응하고 재발 방지에 기여한 환경정책과 수질관리팀이 각각 선정됐다.

포항시는 이번에 선정된 적극행정 사례를 카드뉴스로 제작해 직원들에게 공유하고, 다른 지방자치단체와 중앙부처 등에도 관련 사례를 전파할 예정이다.

박용선 포항시장은 시상식에서 “현장의 문제를 적극적으로 해결하고 성과를 만들어낸 직원들의 노고에 감사드린다”며 “간부공무원부터 적극행정을 실천하는 분위기를 조성하고 지원과 인센티브를 강화해 시민들이 변화를 체감할 수 있는 행정을 만들어가겠다”고 말했다.

이어진 부서별 보고에서는 추석 연휴를 앞두고 물가 관리, 취약계층 지원, 지역 소비 활성화, 교통 및 안전관리 등 분야별 대응계획을 살폈다.

포항시는 명절 기간 재난·안전관리 체계를 강화하고 읍면동장의 지역 순찰을 확대하는 한편, 교통 불편과 생활민원 등 연휴 중 발생할 수 있는 각종 상황에 신속하게 대응할 방침이다.

지역경제 활성화를 위한 방안도 함께 추진한다. 지역 내 소비를 늘리고 소상공인을 지원하는 한편, 긴 추석 연휴를 관광 활성화의 계기로 활용하기 위해 주요 관광지 홍보와 관광객 유치 활동도 강화할 계획이다.

박용선 포항시장은 “추석 연휴에는 시민과 귀성객의 안전을 비롯해 생활 현장에서 발생하는 불편까지 세심하게 살펴야 한다”며 “각 부서가 현장 대응체계를 꼼꼼히 점검하고 분야별 대책을 차질 없이 추진해 안전하고 편안한 명절이 될 수 있도록 해달라”고 당부했다.

Pohang City shared best practices in proactive administration and reviewed sector-specific response systems ahead of the Chuseok holiday to ensure a swift response to administrative issues occurring on-site and to strengthen administration that is tangible to citizens.

The Grand Prize was awarded to the Industrial Complex Development Team of the Urban Planning Division, which contributed to reducing project costs by actively reviewing relevant laws and contract details during the construction of the Yeongilman 4 General Industrial Complex. The Excellence Award was presented to Won Chang-bin, a principal officer in the Information and Communication Division, who streamlined repetitive tasks by applying generative AI and automation technologies to administrative work, and to the Water Quality Management Team in the Environmental Policy Division, which collaborated with relevant agencies to respond to environmental accidents and contribute to preventing their recurrence.

Pohang City plans to produce card news featuring the selected cases of proactive administration to share with employees and to disseminate these examples to other local governments and central government ministries.

At the awards ceremony, Pohang Mayor Park Yong-seon stated, “I thank the employees for their hard work in actively solving on-site problems and producing results,” adding, “We will foster an atmosphere where senior officials practice proactive administration, and by strengthening support and incentives, we will create an administration where citizens can tangibly feel the changes.”

During the subsequent departmental reports, response plans for each sector—including price management, support for vulnerable groups, revitalization of local consumption, and traffic and safety management—were reviewed ahead of the Chuseok holiday. Pohang City plans to strengthen its disaster and safety management system during the holiday period and expand local patrols by heads of Eup, Myeon, and Dong.
