이번 종합대책은 ▲명절 전 생계 지원을 통한 경제적 부담 완화, ▲연휴 기간 돌봄 공백 방지를 위한 안전 관리 강화, ▲지역 사회가 함께하는 민·관 협력 나눔 등 3대 핵심 분야를 중심으로 진행된다.

구미시는 저소득 가구의 명절 가계 부담을 덜어주기 위해 매월 20일과 25일에 지급되던 주요 복지급여를 명절 전인 9월 18일에 조기 집행한다. 대상은 기초생계급여, 기초연금, 장애인연금 및 수당을 받는 총 6만 5,800명이며, 총 지급 규모는 201억 원에 달한다.

또한, 생활 사회복지시설 입소자 581명에게는 1인당 5만 원의 명절위문금을 지원하며, 저소득 1,080세대에 세대당 10만 원의 사회복지공동모금회 위문금을 전달해 온정을 더할 예정이다.
