경산시는 9일 행정안전부가 주관하는 2027년도 자연재해위험개선지구 정비 국고보조사업 대상으로 하양 동서지구가 최종 선정돼, 국비 155억 원을 포함한 총 310억 원의 사업비를 확보했다고 밝혔다.

하양 동서지구는 하천이 합쳐지는 저지대에 위치해 있어, 집중호우가 쏟아질 때마다 배수 능력 한계로 주거지와 농경지 침수 피해가 반복돼 왔다. 이 때문에 재해 위험이 높은 지역으로 꼽혀 왔다.

경산시는 2031년까지 펌프장 2곳을 설치하고, 지구 내 유입수로 3.15㎞를 정비할 계획이다. 단순한 배수시설 보강을 넘어서 침수 발생의 근본 원인을 개선해 집중호우에 따른 피해를 최소화하겠다는 방침이다.

사업비 310억 원 중 국비 155억 원과 지방비 155억 원이 투입될 예정이다.

사업이 완료되면 집중호우 때 하천 합류부와 저지대에 몰리는 빗물을 빠르게 배출할 수 있는 기반이 갖춰져, 하양 동서지구의 침수 위험이 크게 줄어들 것으로 시는 기대하고 있다.

조현일 경산시장은 “이번 재해예방사업 선정은 시민들이 안심하고 생활할 수 있는 환경을 만드는 중요한 계기가 될 것”이라며 “시민의 안전을 최우선으로 삼고, 앞으로도 자연재해로부터 시민의 생명과 재산을 지키는 데 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
