Daegu Health University Brings Outstanding Student Club Alumni and Current Students Together to Share Career Experiences and Foster Growth

Daegu Health University organized an event connecting alumni and current members of its "Outstanding Student Club," aiming to strengthen students' career competencies and establish a foundation for ongoing interaction.

On the 9th, the university announced that it held the "1st DHC Outstanding Student Club Senior-Junior Connecting Day: Connecting the Outstanding Student Club" in the conference room on the third floor of the main administration building.

Organized as part of the College Innovation Support Project, the event was attended by approximately 70 people, including President Nam Sung-hee, university officials, alumni from the club's first cohort, and current members from the second and third cohorts. The event focused on enabling alumni to share experiences gained during their college years and job searches with junior members, while also establishing mentorship relationships that could continue beyond the event.

The DHC Outstanding Student Club was launched in 2024 to cultivate talent equipped with creative and convergence capabilities. The program has steadily expanded in scale, growing from 34 students across 11 departments in its inaugural year to 38 students from 12 departments last year, and reaching 40 students from 14 departments this year.

Through participation in various programs—such as self-directed learning, digital practical training, leadership camps, community service, and overseas field trips—students have built not only major-specific competencies but also leadership skills and practical experience.

The event featured a review of the club's achievements, a special lecture by an alumnus, and a mentorship program. Participants watched a video containing messages of encouragement from senior members and took part in the "Prime Promise" ceremony, where seniors and juniors pledged to support each other's future growth. President Nam Sung-hee spoke to students under the theme "Connecting to the Future," discussing how to effectively plan their college lives and the mindset required to enter the workforce.

Alumni also shared realistic advice based on their own experiences. Graduate Yoon Do-kyung (Department of Physical Therapy) shared stories of challenge and personal growth under the theme "Connecting to Growth," while graduate Woo Jae-won (Department of Health Administration) discussed the significance of relationships between seniors and juniors and the process of growing together under the theme "Connecting as One."

During the subsequent mentoring session, current students asked questions about topics such as GPA management and job preparation, and alumni provided practical advice based on their own firsthand experiences.

Building on this event, Daegu Health University plans to evolve its "Outstanding Student Club" from a simple program for selecting and nurturing students into a growth platform that fosters continuous interaction between alumni and current students.

President Nam Sung-hee remarked, "The experiences of learning, contemplating, and taking on challenges together in the Outstanding Student Club will serve as a solid foundation for your future growth in your respective fields." She added, "I hope you become leaders who stay ahead of the times without losing a heart for others—talented individuals who extend a warm, helping hand to your juniors and the local community."
