Daegu’s Jung-gu District is launching a full-scale initiative to provide tailored employment support spanning various generations—from young adults and the middle-aged to the "new middle-aged" demographic and discharged military veterans.

On the 14th, Jung-gu announced that it had signed a business agreement on the 9th at the National Debt Redemption Movement Memorial Library with seven related organizations to revitalize local employment and provide generation-specific job support.

Seven organizations participated in the agreement: Jung-gu Office, the Daegu Middle-Aged Tomorrow Center (under the Korea Labor & Employment Service), the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Regional Headquarters of the Small Enterprise and Market Service, the Daegu Employment and Welfare Plus Center, the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Employment and Welfare Research Institute, Daegu Health College (part of the Handalbit Glocal Health Alliance University), and the Discharged Veterans Support Center (under the Daegu Regional Office of Patriots and Veterans Affairs).

The participating organizations plan to share local job information and resources while linking employment support and services. They also agreed to identify new job opportunities tailored to each generation and implement various support measures—such as vocational training—to expand employment prospects for residents and help alleviate labor shortages for companies.

This agreement is particularly significant as it precedes the "2026 Daegu Intergenerational Joint Job Fair"; it consolidates employment support functions previously scattered across various agencies, thereby providing residents with a richer array of job information.

Moving forward, Jung-gu plans to strengthen its customized employment support system to meet the specific needs of young adults, the middle-aged, the "new middle-aged," and veterans. Through inter-agency cooperation, the district aims to stabilize local employment and create jobs that residents can tangibly experience.

Jung-gu Mayor Ryu Gyu-ha stated, "By building on our cooperation with these organizations, we will further strengthen generation-specific job support and expand employment opportunities that residents can truly feel in their daily lives."
