대구광역시는 9월 14일부터 30일까지 17일간 ‘추석맞이 청소 종합대책’을 추진한다고 밝혔다.
이번 대책은 명절 기간 발생하는 생활쓰레기를 안정적으로 처리하고 청소 취약지역의 환경을 집중 관리해 시민 불편을 줄이는 데 초점을 맞췄다.
시는 추석을 앞두고 원룸 밀집지역과 단독주택 지역, 이면도로 등 평소 쓰레기 불법투기가 잦은 곳을 중심으로 현장 점검을 강화한다. 특히 약 150명의 단속 인력을 투입해 불법투기 행위를 집중적으로 단속하고 상습적인 투기 행위에 대해서는 적극 대응할 방침이다.
민·관이 함께하는 시가지 청소도 추진한다. 주요 생활권과 취약지역을 대상으로 대청소를 실시해 명절을 앞둔 도시환경을 정비하고 시민들의 자율적인 청결 활동 참여도 독려할 예정이다.
추석 연휴 동안에는 생활폐기물 수거체계를 유지하는 동시에 매립·소각시설을 정상적으로 운영해 폐기물 처리에 차질이 발생하지 않도록 관리한다.
다만 추석 당일인 9월 25일과 일요일인 9월 27일에는 생활쓰레기를 수거하지 않는다. 대구시와 각 구·군은 이 기간 청소상황실과 청소기동반을 운영해 미수거 쓰레기 등 현장에서 발생하는 시민 불편에 신속하게 대응할 계획이다.
쓰레기 배출 혼선을 줄이기 위한 사전 안내도 강화한다. 구·군별 수거 일정과 배출 가능일을 시민들에게 집중적으로 알리고, 수거가 이뤄지지 않는 날에는 생활쓰레기 배출을 가급적 자제해 줄 것을 당부할 예정이다.

During the Chuseok holiday, the city will maintain its household waste collection system and ensure the normal operation of landfill and incineration facilities to prevent any disruptions in waste processing.
However, household waste will not be collected on Chuseok Day (September 25) or on Sunday, September 27. During this period, Daegu City and its autonomous districts will operate cleanup situation rooms and mobile response teams to promptly address issues reported by citizens, such as uncollected waste.
The city will also strengthen advance public information efforts to prevent confusion regarding waste disposal schedules. The city plans to intensively inform residents about collection schedules and designated disposal days for each district and county, while urging them to refrain from disposing of household waste on days when collection services are not operating.
