【브레이크뉴스 울진】이우근 기자= 울진해양경찰서는 8일부터 300톤급 중형함정 1척을 울진 후포항에 추가 배치해 내해구역 해상치안을 강화할 방침이라고 밝혔다.
 

2008년 건조된 308함은 총톤수 460톤, 전장 57미터, 전폭 8.5미터, 최대속력 31노트로 워터제트 추진형식의 중형함정으로 고속단정 1척이 탑재돼 있다.
 

그 동안 울진해경은 500톤급 중형함정 한척으로 관할해역을 경비하면서 포항해경 중형함정의 지원을 받아 경비를 맡아왔다.

울진해경은 지휘관 통솔능력 배양과 승조원간 팀워크 조성 등 직무훈련을 실시 후 내해구역 경비에 투입 할 예정이다.
 

울진해경 관계자는“중형함 추가 배치로 독자적 경비체제 기반 조성 뿐만 아니라, 경북 북부권 동해안 해양사고에 대한 신속한 대응과  해양주권을 수호하는 든든한 파수꾼으로서 활약이 기대된다.”고 말했다.
