동구, 서구, 북구에 이어 군위까지 경선 지역이 늘어나면서 대구 전역에서 공천을 둘러싼 경쟁이 본격적으로 뜨거워지는 모양새다.
이날 공천관리위원회는 김영만 전 군위군수와 김진열 현 군위군수를 경선 후보로 확정했다. 전·현직 군수의 정면승부가 성사된 셈이다. 조직력과 현역 단체장 프리미엄이 격돌할 군위 지역의 표심에도 이목이 쏠린다.
지난 12일 열린 공천관리위원회 회의에서는 단수 추천자도 결정됐다. 남구는 조재구 현 남구청장, 달성군은 최재훈 현 달성군수가 각각 단수 추천되면서 사실상 공천이 확정됐다.
경선 구도가 그려진 지역도 속속 드러났다. 동구청장 경선에는 배기철 전 동구청장과 서호영 전 대구시의원, 우성진·차수환 시당 부위원장, 정해용 전 대구시 경제부시장 등 5명이 출마한다.
서구청장 자리에도 권오상 전 서구 부구청장, 김대현 전 대구시의원, 송영현 전 서구청 도시건설국장 등 3명 간 경쟁이 펼쳐진다.
북구청장 선거 역시 박갑상 전 대구시의원, 이근수 전 북구 부구청장, 이상길 전 대구시 행정부시장 등 3파전 구도가 형성됐다.
앞으론 추가 발표와 경선 방식, 컷오프 기준 등이 남은 변수로 떠올랐다.

A three-way race is also unfolding for the Seo-gu District Mayor position: Kwon Oh-sang, former Seo-gu Deputy District Mayor; Kim Dae-hyun, former Daegu City Council member; and Song Young-hyun, former Director of the Urban Construction Bureau at the Seo-gu District Office.
The Buk-gu District Mayor election has also formed into a three-way contest between Park Gap-sang, former Daegu City Council member; Lee Geun-su, former Buk-gu Deputy District Mayor; and Lee Sang-gil, former Daegu City Administrative Vice Mayor.
Moving forward, additional announcements, the primary method, and cut-off criteria have emerged as remaining variables.
