【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=세계적인 석학이자 생리학자 데니스 노블(Denis Noble) 교수가 달성군청을 방문했다.

24일 노블 교수의 방문은 옥스퍼드에서 진행된 달성군 중등영어 겨울방학 캠프를 계기로 이뤄졌다. 

지난 1월 캠프에 참여한 고교 1년생 12명을 대상으로 특강을 진행한 노블 교수는 “참여 학생들의 학구열과 진중한 모습에 이끌려 달성군을 방문했다”며 “한국 학생들의 톡톡 튀는 개성과 열정적인 참여 자세에 학문을 이끄는 안내자로서 즐거운 보람을 느꼈다”고 말했다.

이어 “달성군 영어방학캠프처럼 세계화 시대에 발맞춰 학생들에게 폭넓은 문화와 경험을 제공할 수 있는 다양한 글로벌 인재 육성 프로그램이 많아지길 바란다”고 전했다.

최재훈 달성군수는 앞으로도 많은 학생들이 국제적 경쟁력을 갖춘 인재로 성장할 수 있도록 다양한 기회를 제공하겠다”고 말했다.

Professor Denis Noble, a world-renowned scholar and physiologist, visited Dalseong County Office.

Professor Noble’s visit on the 24th was made possible by the Dalseong County Middle School English Winter Vacation Camp held in Oxford.

Professor Noble, who gave a special lecture to 12 high school freshmen who participated in the camp in January, said, “I visited Dalseong County because I was drawn to the students’ passion for learning and serious attitude,” and “I felt a joyful sense of accomplishment as a guide leading academics with the unique personalities and passionate participation of Korean students.”

He continued, “I hope that there will be many diverse global talent development programs that can provide students with a wide range of cultures and experiences in line with the era of globalization, like the Dalseong County English Vacation Camp.”

Cho Jae-hoon, Dalseong County Governor, said, “We will continue to provide various opportunities so that many students can grow into globally competitive talents.”
