서 예비후보는 지난 14일 ‘사통팔달, 다니기 좋은 동구’를 핵심 공약으로 발표하며, 도시철도 3호선 혁신도시 구간의 원안 조기 추진을 비롯해 버스 노선 확충, 금호강 교량 신설 등 단기와 중장기를 아우르는 교통 대책을 내세웠다.

대중교통 분야에서는 안심을 중심으로 경산, 수성, 남구, 달서구를 연결하는 시내버스 운행 횟수를 늘리고, 노선도 확대해 접근성을 높이겠다는 계획이다.

도로 인프라 개선 방안도 제시했다. 안심~경산, 수성구 시지 구간을 잇는 금호강 교량 건설을 장기 과제로 삼고, 출퇴근 시간 반복되는 교통 체증을 구조적으로 해소하겠다고 강조했다. 여기에 범안로 무료화로 혼잡이 예상되는 율하교 일대에는 혁신도시로 직접 연결되는 직결도로를 신설해 교통 흐름을 분산시킨다는 방침이다.

서 예비후보는 “교통은 주민 삶의 질과 직결된 핵심 문제”라며 “우선순위를 두고 단계적으로 추진하되, 주민이 실질적으로 체감할 수 있는 변화부터 만들어나가겠다”고 밝혔다.

다만 도시철도 3호선 조기 추진과 교량 신설, 도로 확충 등은 예산 확보와 중앙부처 협의, 환경 및 교통 영향평가 등 행정 절차가 필요해 실제 이행 여부가 주요 변수로 떠오르고 있다.
