【브레이크뉴스 대구】이성현 기자=KH한국건강관리협회(회장 김인원·이하 건협)와 대한노인회(회장 이중근)가 지난 13일 대한노인회 회원과 가족의 건강증진을 위한 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했다.

협약식은 서울 중구 대한노인회 태평청사 6층 회의실에서 열렸으며, 건협 김인원 회장과 강위중 사무총장, 정준원 전략사업본부장, 대한노인회 이중근 회장과 이석현 상임부회장, 이상열 상임이사 등 양 기관 주요 관계자들이 참석했다.

양 기관은 건협 산하 전국 17개 시·도지부의 건강검진 인프라와 60여 년간 축적된 의료 전문성을 바탕으로 대한노인회 회원들의 복지 향상과 체계적인 건강관리를 위해 긴밀히 협력하기로 뜻을 모았다.

이번 협약을 통해 양측은 ▲종합건강검진 우대 혜택 및 치료 연계 서비스 ▲건강생활 실천 프로그램 지원 ▲만성질환 예방 및 관리 강화 ▲사회공헌 활동 협력 등 실질적인 협력 사업을 추진할 계획이다.

대한노인회는 전체 노인 인구의 약 28.7%에 해당하는 300여만 명의 회원이 소속된 국내 최대 노인단체다. 매주 10만 부를 발행하는 기관지 ‘주간 대한노인신문’을 전국 6만9천여 개 경로당에 무료 배부하고 있어, 이번 협약 내용도 적극적으로 홍보할 예정이다.

이를 계기로 양 기관은 사회공헌 활동과 공동 협력 사업을 확대하고 유기적인 파트너십을 강화해 나갈 방침이다.

김인원 건협 회장은 “이미 초고령사회에 진입한 우리나라에서 100세 시대의 축복을 온전히 누리기 위한 핵심 조건은 건강”이라며 “이번 협약이 단순한 검진 서비스 제공을 넘어 어르신 삶의 질을 실질적으로 높이고 대한민국 노인복지의 새로운 지평을 여는 계기가 되길 기대한다”고 말했다.

이중근 대한노인회 회장은 “건협의 우수한 검진 인프라와 전문 의료 인력이 회원들의 건강을 지키는 데 큰 힘이 될 것”이라며 “건강검진은 물론 올바른 생활습관 형성과 만성질환 예방에도 실질적인 성과가 있기를 바란다”고 밝혔다.

한편 건협은 전국 17개 건강검진센터를 통해 국민건강보험공단 건강검진과 개인 맞춤형 종합검진, 예방접종 등 다양한 의료 서비스를 제공하며 공익 의료기관 역할을 수행하고 있다.

The Korea Health Management Association (KH, President Kim In-won; hereinafter KH) and the Korea Senior Citizens Association (President Lee Jung-geun) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the 13th to promote the health of Korea Senior Citizens Association members and their families.

The signing ceremony was held in the conference room on the 6th floor of the Korea Senior Citizens Association's Taepyeong Building in Jung-gu, Seoul. Key officials from both organizations attended, including KH President Kim In-won, Secretary General Kang Wi-jung, and Head of Strategic Business Division Jung Jun-won, as well as Korea Senior Citizens Association President Lee Jung-geun, Executive Vice President Lee Seok-hyun, and Executive Director Lee Sang-yeol.

Both organizations agreed to cooperate closely to improve the welfare of Korea Senior Citizens Association members and provide systematic health management, leveraging the health checkup infrastructure of KH’s 17 city and provincial branches nationwide and medical expertise accumulated over more than 60 years. Through this agreement, both parties plan to pursue practical cooperative projects, including preferential benefits for comprehensive health checkups and treatment referral services, support for healthy lifestyle programs, strengthening the prevention and management of chronic diseases, and cooperation in social contribution activities.

The Korea Senior Citizens Association is the largest senior citizens organization in Korea, with approximately 3 million members representing about 28.7% of the total senior population. As it distributes its official publication, the "Weekly Korea Senior Citizens Newspaper," which publishes 100,000 copies weekly, free of charge to over 69,000 senior centers nationwide, it plans to actively promote the details of this agreement.

Taking this as an opportunity, both organizations intend to expand their social contribution activities and joint cooperative projects, while strengthening their organic partnership. Kim In-won, Chairman of the Korea Health Association (KHA), stated, “In Korea, which has already entered a super-aged society, health is the key condition for fully enjoying the blessings of the centenarian era.” He added, “I hope this agreement goes beyond simply providing health checkup services to serve as an opportunity to substantially improve the quality of life for seniors and open new horizons for elderly welfare in Korea.”

Lee Jung-geun, Chairman of the Korea Senior Citizens Association, remarked, “The KHA’s excellent health checkup infrastructure and professional medical personnel will be a great asset in protecting the health of our members.” He further expressed his hope for tangible results not only in health checkups but also in the formation of proper lifestyle habits and the prevention of chronic diseases.

Meanwhile, the KHA fulfills its role as a public medical institution by providing various medical services, including National Health Insurance Service checkups, personalized comprehensive checkups, and vaccinations, through 17 health checkup centers nationwide.
