영덕군실버복지관은 지난 7일 어르신들의 활기찬 노후 생활을 지원하기 위한 ‘스마트경로당’ 첫 프로그램을 성공적으로 운영했다고 밝혔다. 이번 사업은 물리적 거리와 이동의 제약을 넘어서는 비대면 복지 서비스 모델로 주목받고 있다.

첫 프로그램은 ‘스마트 노래교실’로 진행됐다. 허소영·하창석 강사의 진행 아래 지역 내 일부 경로당을 제외한 대부분의 경로당이 화상 시스템으로 연결됐으며, 약 290명의 어르신이 참여해 높은 호응을 얻었다.

참여 어르신들은 대형 스크린을 통해 서로 안부를 나누고 함께 노래를 부르며 정서적 교류와 공동체 유대감을 형성하는 시간을 가졌다.

특히 이날 프로그램에서는 강사진이 직접 준비한 후원 물품을 참여 어르신들에게 전달하는 이벤트도 함께 열려 현장 분위기를 더욱 따뜻하게 만들었다. 자발적인 나눔이 더해지며 프로그램의 의미를 한층 높였다는 평가다.

영덕군실버복지관은 이번 첫 운영을 시작으로 매주 화요일 오후 2시 정기 프로그램을 이어갈 계획이다. 앞으로 대구한의대학교와 경북행복재단 등 전문기관과 협력해 건강관리, 여가활동, 복지정보 제공 등 맞춤형 콘텐츠도 확대해 나갈 방침이다.

박미숙 영덕군실버복지관장은 “스마트 화상 시스템을 통해 공간의 한계를 넘어 더 많은 어르신들에게 프로그램을 제공할 수 있게 됐다”며 “앞으로도 다양한 기관과의 협력을 통해 스마트경로당이 지역 어르신들의 행복한 여가와 소통의 중심 공간으로 자리 잡을 수 있도록 노력하겠다”고 말했다

She added, "We will continue to work with various organizations to ensure that the 'Smart Senior Center' establishes itself as a central space for happy leisure and communication for the local seniors."
