대구한의대는 ‘영덕 로컬캠퍼스’를 중심으로 추진된 ‘스마트 경로당’ 구축 사업이 본격 가동에 들어갔다고 밝혔다. 지난 4월 3일 영덕군 영해면 영덕실버복지관에서 열린 개통식에는 김광열 영덕군수와 지역 어르신, 대한노인회 관계자, 대학 관계자들이 참석했다.

이번 사업은 영덕군이 과학기술정보통신부 공모에 선정되며 추진된 것으로, 지역 내 52개 경로당에 양방향 화상 소통 시스템을 구축해 비대면 기반 복지 서비스를 확대하는 데 목적이 있다.

특히 대구한의대 진로개발센터가 운영하는 ‘글로컬 30 G벨트 연계 기린도전학기제’와 연계해 산학·지역 협력형 교육모델로 의미를 더했다. 한방재활스포츠학과 학생들은 현장에 참여해 ‘스마트 실버 액티브 케어 프로그램(SSAC)’을 운영하며 건강 체조 지도와 스마트 기기 활용 교육을 병행했다.

이날 행사에서는 김홍 교수가 스마트 경로당 시스템을 활용한 프로그램을 직접 시연하며 대학의 전문성을 선보였고, 학생들은 실무 중심 교육을 통해 현장 대응 역량을 강화했다.

‘기린도전학기제’는 학생이 지역사회 연계 프로젝트에 참여해 학점을 취득하는 대구한의대의 집중이수 교육과정으로, 이번 사업은 지역 문제 해결과 전공 교육을 결합한 대표 사례로 평가된다.

영덕군은 스마트 경로당을 통해 노래교실, 건강체조, 웃음치료 등 다양한 프로그램을 실시간으로 제공하고, 정보 격차 해소와 함께 어르신들의 신체·정서적 건강 증진을 도모할 계획이다.

박숙자 진로개발센터장은 “이번 사업은 대학의 교육 자원을 지역사회로 확산한 로컬캠퍼스 전략의 핵심 사례”라며 “지자체와 협력을 강화해 지역 문제 해결형 인재 양성에 지속적으로 나서겠다”고 밝혔다.

Daegu Hani University is garnering attention for implementing a digital welfare innovation model for local seniors in cooperation with Yeongdeok County.

Daegu Hani University announced that the ‘Smart Senior Center’ construction project, spearheaded by the ‘Yeongdeok Local Campus,’ has officially begun operations. The opening ceremony, held on April 3 at the Yeongdeok Silver Welfare Center in Yeonghae-myeon, Yeongdeok-gun, was attended by Yeongdeok County Governor Kim Gwang-yeol, local seniors, officials from the Korea Senior Citizens Association, and university representatives.

This project was initiated after Yeongdeok County was selected in a public competition by the Ministry of Science and ICT. Its purpose is to expand non-face-to-face welfare services by establishing two-way video communication systems in 52 senior centers within the region.

In particular, the project holds added significance as an industry-academia and local community collaborative education model by linking it with the ‘Glocal 30 G-Belt-linked Kirin Challenge Semester’ program operated by Daegu Hani University’s Career Development Center. Students from the Department of Oriental Medicine Rehabilitation Sports participated in the field to operate the ‘Smart Silver Active Care Program (SSAC),’ providing instruction in health exercises alongside training on the use of smart devices.

During the event, Professor Kim Hong demonstrated the university’s expertise by personally showcasing a program utilizing the smart senior center system, while students strengthened their on-site response capabilities through practical, hands-on training.

The ‘Giraffe Challenge Semester’ is an intensive course at Daegu Hani University in which students earn academic credits by participating in community-linked projects; this project is considered a prime example of combining local problem-solving with major-specific education.

Yeongdeok County plans to provide various programs, such as singing classes, health exercises, and laughter therapy, in real-time through the smart senior centers, aiming to bridge the digital divide and promote the physical and emotional health of the elderly.

Park Suk-ja, Director of the Career Development Center, stated, “This project is a key example of the local campus strategy, which expands the university’s educational resources into the local community,” adding, “We will continue to strengthen cooperation with local governments to foster talent capable of solving local problems.”
