이번 행사는 반려동물과 함께하는 가족들을 위해 야외 펫파크와 카페 ‘스니프(Sniff)’에서 진행되었으며, 동물의료 분야 전문가와 동물보건사, 수의사 등이 참여해 다양한 체험 부스를 운영해 큰 관심을 모았다.

특히 행사 기간 동안 대구한의대 반려동물보건학과가 직접 운영한 부스에서는 ▲반려동물 응급처치 ▲재활운동 ▲건강 상담 등 실질적이고 전문적인 프로그램이 마련되어 방문객들의 높은 호응을 얻었다.

행사 파트너인 키녹은 지난해 8월 문을 연 반려동물 친화형 호텔로, 반려동물과 함께 머물 수 있는 객실과 다양한 부대시설, F&B 서비스를 갖추어 반려인들에게 좋은 평가를 받고 있다.

대구한의대 반려동물보건학과(학과장 정현아)는 경상권 유일의 4년제 동물보건사 양성 인증기관으로, 지난해 첫 졸업생들이 동물보건사 국가시험에서 100% 합격을 기록하며 높은 교육 성과를 입증했다.

이재연 교수는 “반려동물 산업의 미래 인재를 양성하고 지역사회와 함께 반려동물 보호 문화를 확산하는 데 지속적으로 힘쓰겠다”며 “앞으로도 다양한 프로그램과 활발한 활동을 통해 반려동물과 사람이 공존하는 건강한 문화를 만들어가겠다”고 밝혔다.
