【브레이크뉴스 대구】이성현 기자=대구한의대학교 (총장 변창훈 )가 교육부 ‘글로컬대학 30’ 사업의 일환으로 이탈리아 볼로냐에서 열린 세계 최대 뷰티 산업 전시회 코스모프로프 볼로냐 에 참가해 글로벌 현장 기반 교육과 산학연 협력 모델의 해외 확장에 나섰다.

이번 프로그램은 ‘교육–연구–산업–사업화’로 이어지는 전주기 연계형 인재양성 체계 구축을 목표로 기획됐다. 참가 학생들은 제품 기획과 설계, 패키징, 가격 전략, 유통 구조 등 제품화 전 과정을 현장에서 분석하며 글로벌 시장 대응 역량을 강화했다. 이는 지역 정주형 실무 인재를 글로벌 수준으로 확장한 글로컬대학 모델의 실증 사례로 평가된다.

특히 학생들은 이탈리아 현지 화장품 및 바이오 기업을 방문해 산업·연구·시장 간 연계 구조를 분석하고, 기술 기반 제품의 사업화 가능성을 구체화했다. 이를 통해 단순 교육을 넘어 지역 산업과 연계 가능한 실질적 성과 창출 기반을 확보했다.

대학은 또 볼로냐대학교 와 전략 회의를 열고 글로벌 산학연 협력 고도화를 위한 공동 플랫폼 구축에 합의했다. 양 기관은 ▲EDU-Lab(공동 교육) ▲R&D-Lab(공동 연구) ▲BIZ-Lab(사업화 연계)로 구성된 통합 협력 모델을 추진하기로 했다.

특히 ‘BIZ-Lab’은 대학 연구성과를 산업과 시장으로 직접 연결하는 핵심 플랫폼으로, 향후 지역 기업과의 연계를 통해 기술 이전, 공동 브랜드 개발, 글로벌 유통 진출 등 실질적 성과 창출이 기대된다.

이와 함께 약리학·생명공학·농학 등 다학제 협력을 기반으로 한국의 약용식물 소재 기술과 유럽 연구 인프라를 결합한 고기능성 화장품 및 건강기능식품 공동 개발 가능성도 모색했다.

변창훈 총장은 “이번 프로그램은 ‘지역–대학–산업–글로벌’을 연결하는 확장형 혁신 모델의 실증 사례”라며 “K-MEDI 실크로드를 중심으로 선순환하는 글로벌 협력 생태계를 구축해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.

한편 대구한의대는 글로컬대학 30 사업을 기반으로 지역 특화 산업과 연계한 교육 혁신과 산학연 협력, 글로벌 네트워크 구축을 지속 추진하며 지역에서 세계로 확장되는 글로컬 혁신 모델을 확산해 나갈 계획이다.

Daegu Hani University (President Byun Chang-hoon) participated in Cosmoprof Bologna, the world’s largest beauty industry exhibition held in Bologna, Italy, as part of the Ministry of Education’s ‘Glocal University 30’ project. The university has set out to expand its global field-based education and industry-academia-research collaboration models overseas.

This program was designed with the goal of establishing a full-cycle integrated talent development system that connects education, research, industry, and commercialization. Participating students strengthened their capacity to respond to the global market by analyzing the entire product development process on-site, including product planning, design, packaging, pricing strategies, and distribution structures. This is considered a practical demonstration of the Glocal University model, which expands locally-based practical talent to a global level.

In particular, students visited local cosmetics and bio companies in Italy to analyze the linkage structure between industry, research, and the market, and to concretize the commercialization potential of technology-based products. Through this, they secured a foundation for generating tangible results linked to local industries, going beyond simple education.

** The university also held a strategic meeting with the University of Bologna and agreed to establish a joint platform to advance global industry-academia-research collaboration. Both institutions decided to pursue an integrated cooperation model consisting of ▲EDU-Lab (joint education) ▲R&D-Lab (joint research) ▲BIZ-Lab (commercialization linkage).

In particular, the ‘BIZ-Lab’ serves as a core platform that directly connects university research results to industry and the market; it is expected to generate tangible results, such as technology transfer, joint brand development, and entry into global distribution channels, through future partnerships with local companies.

In addition, the possibility of jointly developing high-performance cosmetics and health functional foods was explored, combining Korea’s medicinal plant material technology with European research infrastructure based on multidisciplinary cooperation in fields such as pharmacology, biotechnology, and agriculture.

President Byun Chang-hoon stated, “This program is a demonstration of an expandable innovation model connecting ‘region-university-industry-global,’” adding, “We will build a virtuous cycle global cooperation ecosystem centered on the K-MEDI Silk Road.” Meanwhile, Daegu Hanyeong University plans to continue promoting educational innovation linked to regional specialized industries, industry-academia-research cooperation, and the establishment of global networks based on the Glocal University 30 project, and to spread a glocal innovation model that expands from the region to the world.
