28일 국민의힘 출신 전 경산시의회 의장을 비롯한 전직 시의원들이 최경환 예비후보의 선거캠프를 방문해 “시민이 불러낸 후보, 최경환을 지지한다”고 전했다.

지지선언에 참석한 이들은 최상길, 허개열, 최덕수, 이기동 前 시의장과 기숙란, 김영식, 김종근, 김종현, 박두환, 박병호, 박승진, 박임택, 박형근, 성기호, 오세하, 이창대, 전석진, 정병택, 최춘영, 한태락, 허순옥 (가나다순) 등 모두 21명이다.

이들은 지난 시간 최경환 후보와 함께 경산 발전을 위해 일했던 인연을 언급하며 “최경환 후보가 의원 시절이던 2000년대에 괄목할 경산발전을 경험할 수 있었다”고 강조했다.

특히 최 예비후보를 “경산 발전의 대명사이며 경산 경제에 활력을 불어 넣을 검증된 일꾼”이라고 표현하며 첨단산업단지, 지하철, 도로 등 대형 국책 사업을 유치했던 업적을 소개했다.

아울러 이들은 “경산이 길러낸 큰 인물 최경환 후보의 5선 도전을 응원한다”며 “반드시 승리하여 경산 발전의 더 큰 미래를 열어달라”고 당부했다.
