【브레이크뉴스 경북】진예솔 기자=국민의힘 경북도당 공천관리위원회가 기초단체장 공천 구도를 확정하면서 경북 지역 선거 판세의 윤곽이 점차 드러나고 있다.

공천관리위원회가 15일 열린 10차 회의에서 제9회 전국동시지방선거 기초단체장에 대한 공천 결과를 최종 의결했다. 

이번 결정에 따르면 울릉, 김천, 구미, 경산 등 일부 지역에서는 단수추천으로 후보를 일찌감치 확정지었다. 반면, 경주를 포함한 15개 지역에서는 경선을 통해 최종 후보를 선출하기로 했다.

단수추천이 이뤄진 지역은 울릉군수 후보에 김병수, 김천시장에 배낙호, 구미시장에 김장호, 경산시장에 조현일이 각각 이름을 올렸다.

이에 반해 경주시장과 영양, 봉화, 영천, 청도, 상주, 의성, 청송, 영덕, 울진, 성주, 칠곡 등은 복수의 후보가 경선을 치르며 최종 후보를 가리게 됐다. 특히 경주, 의성, 성주 등 일부 지역은 3명 이상이 경쟁하는 구도가 펼쳐져, 지역별로 치열한 접전이 예상된다.

경선은 선거인단 투표 50%와 여론조사 50%를 합산하는 방식으로 진행된다.

광역의원 공천 역시 경주, 구미, 김천 등 여러 선거구에서 단수추천이 진행됐으며, 일부 선거구는 경선을 통해 후보가 확정됐다. 

기초의원의 경우 김천 일부 선거구는 단수추천, 구미, 의성, 청송, 영덕 등은 경선을 통해 후보가 결정되는 혼합 방식이 적용됐다.

정치권에서는 이번 공천 결과를 두고 단수추천으로 조기에 후보군을 확정짓는 한편, 경선을 통해 경쟁을 유도하는 ‘이중 전략’이 반영된 것으로 분석하고 있다. 

다자 경선이 펼쳐지는 지역에서는 후보 간 경쟁이 더욱 격화될 가능성이 있어, 최종 경선 결과가 지역 선거 판세에 적지 않은 영향을 미칠 전망이다.

In particular, in some regions such as Gyeongju, Uiseong, and Seongju, a landscape featuring three or more competitors is unfolding, leading to expectations of fierce battles in each area.

The primary elections are conducted by combining 50% of the electoral college vote and 50% of public opinion polls.

Regarding the nominations for metropolitan council members, single nominations were made in several constituencies, including Gyeongju, Gumi, and Gimcheon, while candidates were finalized through primaries in some districts.

For local council members, a mixed system was applied, with single nominations in some Gimcheon districts and candidates determined through primaries in Gumi, Uiseong, Cheongsong, and Yeongdeok.

Political circles analyze the results of these nominations as reflecting a "dual strategy" of finalizing the pool of candidates early through single nominations while simultaneously inducing competition through primaries.

As competition among candidates is likely to intensify in regions where multi-candidate primaries are taking place, the final primary results are expected to have a significant impact on the regional election landscape.
