주호영 국민의힘 의원은 8일 국회 소통관에서 기자회견을 열고 “이번 지방선거의 최대 장애물은 장동혁 대표 체제 그 자체”라고 지적했다.

주 의원은 지도부 책임론의 근거로 최근 악화된 여론을 들었다. 한국갤럽 4월 1주차 여론조사에서 국민의힘 지지율이 18%에 그친 반면, 더불어민주당은 48%를 기록했다고 강조했다.

주 의원은 “민심이 돌아선 지도부로는 선거를 치를 수 없다”며 지도부 사퇴의 필요성을 역설했다. 또한 공천 절차와 공천관리위원회 운영을 둘러싼 각종 논란도 함께 지적했다.

Internal conflict within the People Power Party is escalating into a head-on clash ahead of the June 3 local elections.

On the 8th, People Power Party Representative Joo Ho-young held a press conference at the National Assembly Communication Center and pointed out, "The biggest obstacle to this local election is the leadership of Chairman Jang Dong-hyuk itself."
