주 의원은 “대구·경북 행정통합이 제자리걸음을 하는 데는 민주당의 비협조와 정부의 방관이 가장 큰 원인”이라고 지적했다. 

그는 “국회 본회의 일정이 남아 있고, 법안도 이미 상임위를 거쳐 법사위에 올라간 상태”라고 밝혔다. 

이어 “지방의회 동의와 절차도 이미 마무리된 만큼, 민주당이 결단만 내리면 즉시 통과가 가능한 사안”이라고 강조했다.

김 전 총리의 통합 및 재정 지원 공약에 대해서는 “병 주고 약 주는 식의 ‘놀부 정치’일 뿐”이라며 비판했다.

 또 “통합을 고의로 지연시킨 뒤, 선거가 끝난 후 성과로 내세우려는 것 아니냐는 의혹도 제기된다”고 지적했다.

주 의원은 “대구·경북 통합은 특정 정치인의 선거 전략이 아니라 지역의 생존과 직결된 문제”라고 힘줘 말했다. 

이어 “진정성이 있다면 출마 선언 이전에 당과 정부를 설득해 법안을 통과시키는 것이 먼저”라고 강조했다.

또 그는 “광주·전남과 달리 대구·경북만 통합이 지연되고 있는 것은 명백한 지역 차별”이라며 “민주당과 정부가 즉시 법안 처리에 나서야 한다”고 촉구했다.

Regarding former Prime Minister Kim’s pledges for integration and financial support, he criticized them as “nothing more than ‘Nolbu politics,’ akin to giving a disease and then offering a cure.”

He also pointed out, “Suspicions are being raised that he is intentionally delaying the integration to present it as an achievement after the election.”

Representative Ju emphasized, “The integration of Daegu and Gyeongbuk is not an election strategy for a specific politician, but a matter directly linked to the survival of the region.”

He further stressed, “If there is sincerity, the priority should be to persuade the party and the government to pass the bill before declaring one’s candidacy.”

He also urged, “The fact that the integration of Daegu and Gyeongbuk is being delayed, unlike Gwangju and Jeonnam, is clear regional discrimination,” adding, “The Democratic Party and the government must immediately take action to process the bill.”
