권 예비후보는 14일 입장문을 통해 “경선은 상대를 공격하는 자리가 아니라 서구의 미래를 두고 경쟁하는 무대”라며, “사실이 아닌 주장이나 과장된 표현으로 선거가 혼탁해지는 일은 바람직하지 않다”고 강조했다.

이어 함께 경선에 나선 김대현, 송영현 예비후보들에게 “선거법을 철저히 지키고, 허위나 과장이 아닌 정책과 공약으로 경쟁하자”고 제안했다.

권 예비후보는 “저부터 허위와 비방 대신 실력과 책임으로 승부하는 경선에 앞장서겠다”며 “정책과 비전으로만 평가받겠다”고 밝혔다.

또 “경선 결과는 모두가 존중해야 하며, 이후에는 한마음으로 뭉쳐 본선 승리를 만들자”고 당내 단합의 필요성도 피력했다.

권 예비후보는 끝으로 “서구의 미래는 말이 아닌 실천으로 보여드리겠다”고 덧붙였다.
