【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=오영준 더불어민주당 대구시당 대변인이 18일 중구청장 선거 출마를 공식 선언했다.

오 대변인은 이날 오전 더불어민주당 대구시당에서 기자회견을 열고 “중구를 대구 변화의 중심으로 만들겠다”고 포부를 밝혔다.

오 대변인은 출마선언문을 통해 “대구는 국채보상운동, 2·28 민주운동 등 변화와 저항의 역사를 가진 도시”라면서 “그 출발점인 중구에서 다시 한번 전환을 시작하겠다”고 강조했다.

그는 중구의 현 상황에 대해 “인구는 늘었지만 삶의 질과 인프라는 뒤따르지 못하고 있다”며 동성로 상권 공실 증가, 대중교통 사각지대, 보육과 의료 인프라 부족 등을 주요 문제로 지목했다.

핵심 공약으로는 공공기관 유치를 통한 도심 재편을 내세웠다. 오 대변인은 “중소기업 금융을 담당하는 IBK기업은행 본사를 중구에 유치해 금융 중심업무지구(CBD)를 만들겠다”며 “도심 공동화 해소와 일자리 창출을 동시에 이뤄내겠다”고 발표했다.

오 대변인은 “비상한 상황에는 비상한 대책이 필요하다. 경쟁이 약화된 지역 정치 구조가 지역 발전을 막고 있다”며 “중구청장 후보 준비가 부족했던 점은 당의 책임이지만, 멈출 수 없다. 공당의 책임으로 구조를 바꾸기 위한 출발점이 필요하다”고 말했다.

이어 “대구 민주당 주자로서 시민들에게 정치적 효능감을 돌려드리고 싶다. 중구로 유입된 인구가 기존 주민과 잘 어우러져 지속 가능한 삶을 누릴 수 있도록 행정적으로 뒷받침하겠다”고 밝혔다.
