이들은 “대구시가 즉각적이고 철저한 조사를 통해 폐수 방류의 원인을 철저히 규명하고, 책임자는 그에 상응하는 처벌을 해야 한다”고 말했다.
나아가 “지속적인 모니터링을 위한 실시간 감시 시스템 도입, 배출업체 전수조사, 신고 활성화를 위한 시민 모니터링 강화 등 보다 근본적인 대책을 마련하고 시민들의 불안이 해소될 수 있도록 수질 정보를 제공해야 한다”고 주장했다.
민주당 대구시당은 “이번 사태를 끝까지 주시할 것”이라며 “대구시는 피해 오염제거 및 복원, 추가 피해 확산 저지, 재발 방지 등을 위해 즉각적인 조치를 취하라”고 거듭 강조했다.
