대구 서구 등에 따르면 지난달 8일과 이달 24일, 25일, 26일 네 차례 폐수 유출 신고가 접수 됐다.

대구시는 반복되는 폐수 유출 사고에 관계기관과 합동점검반을 구성하고 의심되는 사업장 13곳에 대한 점검을 실시했지만 유의미한 정황을 찾지 못했다.

시민들의 불안감은 커지는 가운데 일각에서는 안일한 대처로 사안을 키웠다는 비판이 제기됐다.

대구악취시민연대 조용기 대표는 “지난달 보라색 폐수 유출 당시 늦은 대응으로 제대로 된 시료조차 채증하지 못하고 원인 파악이 어렵다더니 상황이 반복되니까 부랴부랴 합동점검단을 꾸린 대구시 모습이 실망스럽다”며 “불신은 커지고 있는데도 여전히 개선되는 부분은 없어 답답하고 관계당국은 뭐하고 있는지 모르겠다”고 말했다.
